Happy Valley has been replaced by Line of Duty. I'm onto Series 2, and have watched 4 episodes since Friday. There's so much going on that it really captivates you & helps absorb an anxious mind.

Again, the reason there's no new and growing far right-party in Ireland is because there's plenty of room for them in the existing right-wing parties, where gormless fuckwits like Grealish are not just tolerated, but promoted.

I collected the keys this morning. The worry of have I made the right choice; the loss of a few incredibly useful conveniences I had in the old apartment that I no longer have here; the logistics of moving; how to store belongings - I am a bag of nerves, a chairde.

Between the Leto story and everything else it's as abundantly clear as ever that way too many people still don't care about or acknowledge the harm many men in the public eye do to women and girls, even when it's an open secret.
The point isn't to produce essays, it's to teach students how to think for fuck's sake. The minute you automate that, it's over. You might as well close the course. Which they're also doing. This is an attack on learning, and everyone is just shrugging.
Full of despair today. Massive lay offs in social sciences and humanities across the country, Burnham puts out a video saying 'AI can write an essay', and my university is busy integrating co-pilot into all staff and student computers. We are being told we're defunct and there's no resistance.
