Friendly neighborhood livestock scientist making your meat better for you and the environment with SCIENCE! Views expressed here 100% my own. Thirtysomething bi trans dude living in sunny QLD. He/him.

Raqefet Cave in Israel was a sacred burial site for the hunter-gatherer culture known as the 'Natufians' around 13,000 years ago. More recently, we've also discovered here the earliest evidence of BEER BREWING from grains. Even more remarkable because these people HADN'T INVENTED AGRICULTURE YET.

Traces of 13,000-Year-Old Beer Found in Israel

According to the authors of a new study, the discovery marks the earliest-known evidence of beer production among ancient peoples

The best way I can describe Astarion in ASTARION is that he's...desperate for who he was, even though that person has been stolen, vivisected, and put through a cheese grater.

www.bookfrenzi.com/fantasy/bald... here it is, my thoughts on Baldur's Gate 3: Astarion by @tkingfisher.com it's good, it's really really good but it is also DARK!! This story is not for the faint of heart (I'm deadly serious!) but it is still so GOOD! Hope you enjoy it :)

Annie sometimes needs meds that need to go in wet food. The problem is, if she's getting wet food, I have to give some to Rogue or she will attempt to steal. Or I have to put Rogue in another room until Annie is done eating. But I have found wet food Annie likes but Rogue refuses to touch XD

Last year I had to go through airport security with a cooler bag full of frozen cattle hair samples. This year it will be frozen cattle hair and liver samples. Can't wait to see the look on airport security's face this time XD (It's for science reasons, easiest way to bring the samples back)

a very common phenomenon is people rejecting the conclusions of propaganda, but accepting the premises. you can passionately disagree about how the trans problem should be handled, and it will still keep you from asking "what do you mean, 'trans problem?'"

I think people need to remember propagand operates via emotional manipulation, when they say "you are not immune to propaganda" it doesn't means that you could be fooled by some fox news bullshit, but to be aware of someone trying to manipulate your feelings to sell you ideology.

The "social contagion" thing drives me screaming angry. When I was young I had no clue trans ppl existed. I'd never met anyone trans. I saw cruel caricatures in pop culture occasionally. When I realized trans was a thing someone could be, it hit like a lightning bolt. My life felt newly possible.

fun fact: one of the things that made me decide "no, I will get an actual diagnosis", rather than just assuming, was the subtitle of a thread about ADHD on the SomethingAwful forums because it hit so hard it hurt it was along the lines of "if you were lazy, you would be having fun"

for fucking REAL. the depth of trauma for those undiagnosed with ADHD is real. not just the way we feel like we're constantly failing (because everyone is telling us we are) but not understanding WHY because we have no context to understand other people aren't struggling with the things we are.

There's no real point in arguing with his mouth noises, particularly not when preaching to the Bluesky choir, but this is *noteworthy* nonsense. If the revenue were real (it's not), then it would be revenue *of the United States government,* equally available to a Democratic Congress to spend.

Trump: "Because of tariffs, we are taking in hundreds of billions of dollars of profits. It's one of the reasons I can offer, if Republicans win the House and Senate, $5,000 to every adult. We can do it and the Democrats can't, because the Democrats don't have any income."
