The Iowa legislature just became the first in modern history to repeal a statutory civil rights law by removing protections for gender identity first passed in 2007. They have legalized discrimination against trans people in housing, healthcare, and employment. This is a campaign of eradication.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.
I keep saying this but... if you live in a big city and want to fight fascism, questioning what your mayor and cops are doing to unhoused people is an *excellent* start. Criminalizing people who have nothing is how nice urban liberals do fascism.

Siva@sivav.bsky.social · 2y agoI’m not sure the rest of the country fully grasps the panic and anger building in DC, MD, and VA. The entire economy of this area is about to collapse. Paychecks are stopping. Careers are ruined. Taxes are about to plummet. Yet no one seems able to stop this madness.
There is a ton of great work published in CDC journals. Taking those offline is unfathomable. And yet, it happened and is at risk of disappearing again. Much of this is work taxpayers already funded. Why isn't DOGE crying about this abuse of funds??

This is an absolute scandal. Trump and Marco Rubio abandoned American workers and their families abroad, delaying waivers to provide for their safe return to the United States. As these civil servants lost their possessions, housing, and money, Elon Musk was slandering them with bogus accusations.
