Once and future podcaster from The Sitcom Club. Editor and co-producer (in a minor capacity) of A History Of Rock Music In 500 Songs. From Yorkshire, living in California. ''Practically Mexican'' according to my late wife (she liked to exaggerate).

(A silent era newspaper would print that a person has been charged with rape and murder with a firearm, while modern algorithms demand that a news account say "the suspect was charged with grape and unaliving with a pew-pew." That takes away dignity and agency in discussing serious matters.)

My folks have come through to help us do a load of DIY and have brought my old badge collection from when I was a kid. I'm not keeping most of them, but you had best believe I'm keeping this one

A badge from the early 1980s which says British Meat's got the lot!

Douglas Fairbanks clears a table as he duels Noah Beery in THE MARK OF ZORRO (1920), his first full-costume swashbuckler. Doug's brother, Robert, acted as a stunt coordinator and propmaster, lowering the table slightly to make the leap look even more impressive.

Fucking right? I thought this was a horror movie from the looks of it and was really disappointed (because I love Colman but don't like folk horror) but then it turned out to be about Colman getting it from a wicker husband made by Peter Dinklage and I was immediately: "I'm in."

many people are weirded out by the new WICKER movie starring Alexander Skarsgård and Olivia Colman but I honestly would rather watch a romantasy with a odd-looking main character covered in baskets than pretty much any horror film where people are routinely cut up or murdered
