People attending @nwavconference.bsky.social #nwav54 in 2 weeks: I'm doing a lunchtime workshop on Thursday about lingcomm through zines! You can grab your lunch quickly at the UdeM cafeteria (or pack it if you prefer) and bring it to the workshop There will be hands-on zines you can touch!

If you could have AO3-style tag wrangling in any non-fanfic, non-AO3 spaces, what space would you add it to? I know @gretchenmcculloch.com wrote a Wired article about 7 years ago(!) that listed some examples of this, but I'm curious what thoughts folks are having about this now.

The name is accurate. Each episode is enthusiastic about linguistics. Lots of lingthusiasm! And you can go in knowing zilch about linguistics because they eschew jargon and clearly explain any technical terms they use. And if you do already know something about linguistics, it's also fun!

Lingthusiasm has been a favourite of mine since 2019. I'm not a linguist but I love learning more about how languages and communication work and I really like how Gretchen and Lauren give a global perspective of linguistics including sign language. definitly worth a listen

This podcast is excellent. Even if a podcast about linguistics doesn’t excite you but you’re someone like me, who got excited about the potential of podcasts back when Serial first released and went off to discover science podcasts about niche topics, Lingthusiasm is worth a listen!
