I found a “wolverine claw” on the beach yesterday. (this is not a wolverine claw). Seems like the mandible/lower beak of one of these sea birds, gull or tern most likely. Love the articular aspect. Like our mandibular condyle/TMJ.  Just looking for rocks, sometimes you find these other things.

At least if they ask for an interview they have an interest in the applicant's skills and a slight investment of time before their biases have a chance to kick in.

Employers watching a pre-recorded video may not even realize that they are automatically passing on an applicant due to prejudice, just that something about the potential employee doesn't feel like the right match.

Do not like the growing trend of job applications requiring a pre-recorded video. It allows employers to discriminate for being too brown, too fat, too old, too visibly disabled, too gender non-conforming, having an accent etc. before they see any qualifications and commit to an interview.

Meta has made it repeatedly clear that one of their growth strategies is sexualizing kids. Mark Zuckerberg and his leadership team deserve to face personal liability for this, and the company deserves sanctions up to and including corporate dissolution

This plane landed in Myanmar about three hours ago. This is the third ICE flight to Myanmar this year. Burmese deportees in 2025 were immediately sent to a torture facility next to the airport, according to Myanmar Now. Weeks later, not all of them had emerged.

Well, I am of colonoscopy age now and I got my first-ever one yesterday. The prep wasn't fun but not as awful as I'd imagined. My appt was at 6am on Monday, I was home just after 7am. There's no recovery except catching up on the sleep you missed. So, if you need a nudge to get yours, this is it!

Like I don’t dig a trend toward witch hunts, toward picking out every em dash and “not X but Y”, that shit sucks. But also, people should be ashamed to admit to using this technology in writing. It should be something done in cringing secret, in terror of being found out
