"Cool dude, see you in discovery!" is the obvious UNO Reverse card to Trump's attempts to bully organizations by suing them for a trillion dollars. It's a massive indictment of the US system that one after another institutions and major organizations settled and paid bribes rather than play it.

If you think the Brewers should have offered more when they obviously put the best deal on the table, then you have an agenda other than thinking what's in the best interests of the team. No wonder Arnold sounded so pissed during the game yesterday.

Confirmation that the Brewers offered at least one prospect better than Hope (Luis Peña) and at least one, maybe two, other Top 100 prospect bats. That would certainly seem to be a stronger offer, but the Tigers wanted a pitcher as part of the deal.

Pat Murphy had some eye-opening comments about the Brewers' involvement with a Tarik Skubal deal: “It isn't as simple as, 'That's a better package.' It's not as simple as that. There's a lot more, a lot more layers to it. To say the Brewers didn’t try is simply incorrect.”

The Brewers are acquiring Antonio Senzatela from the Rockies for LHP Mark Manfredi and SS Juan Martinez, per Mark Feinsand
With that said, these are still the 11th and 13th-best Brewers prospects (right now). Far cry from hesitating on trading Luis Peña, uncomfy but not reckless.

I actually think Clay Holmes would be a nice compliment to the May acquisition. Holmes has experience in the bullpen which is where he'd slot in the playoffs.
I have no reason to think it would happen, but it would be hilarious if the Brewers got Detmers.

Even if you think the Brewers approach to building a roster doesn't work in the playoffs, how would acquiring a couple players at the deadline significantly change anything? It's mostly the same roster! It's not like you get points in the playoffs for number of players added at the deadline.

Anything will pale in comparison to Skubal and I do think this would raise the floor more than the ceiling but that GB% with the Brewers infield would play nicely.

One frustrating thing about baseball business analysis is the lack of publicly available, reliable information. What was truly offered in a trade? How much money is the owner pocketing? How many free agents were truly willing to sign with Team X? Nobody ever knows, but they get mad like they do.
Not without giving up Logan Henderson, which then becomes a bit counterproductive if you’re subtracting from your current rotation to make that move

It's not that hard to believe the Brewers couldn't beat that, even if they included Pena (Made was never going anywhere for anyone) and another top prospect.
