Man, what a game that was. Probably the most exciting hockey game I've watched since the first 9 seconds of USA v Canada in the 4 Nations Face Off.

I don’t really know what I expect in posting this, but maybe some people see it and can learn from it. I’ll call it “lessons from an unwilling immigration attorney.” 1/

1/ ProPublica collected handwritten letters in mid-January from children held at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center, the same facility where 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos was taken. Hundreds of kids are still detained. We’ll let the children’s words speak for themselves. 🧵

Every day Mamdani comes out and is like "hey guys, I turned off the orphan-crushing machine. Literally just had to flip a switch. Took less than 5 minutes." After decades of dem leadership pissing and moaning and fundraising about how complex an issue it is and how difficult the process is etc

I testified Friday before Gov. Pritzker's commission studying abuses of ICE and CBP and tried to explain how the agencies went so far off track. It's actually way worse than I ever realized. Please read and share my testimony as Congress considers reform: www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/accountabi...

Accountability for ICE and CBP

However bad you think the corruption and misconduct at ICE and CBP is — the reality is far far worse.

Judge Biery signed the order with a photo of Liam and two bible verses: The first is "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven." The second is simply "Jesus wept." Astonishing thing for a judge to do.

Philadelphia, September 17, 1787: "Well, Dr. Franklin, what do we have?" "A republic, if you
can keep it."
With a judicial finger in the constitutional dike,
It is so ORDERED.
SIGNED this 31st day of February, 2026.

NEWS: Judge Biery has ordered the release of 5-year-old Liam Ramos. A thunderous rebuke against ICE’s violent campaign in Minnesota. Read the order below. Link: storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

ok is now a time to say I 100% believe this caused /pol/ to exist because a few years ago someone texted me to say they were with moot at a party and asked if I wanted to relay anything and I said “yeah tell him to ban gamergate shit off 4chan” flippantly AND THEN HE FUCKING DID

I really want people to check in with the organizations that have been pushing back on surveillance for 10+ years. Just to be blunt, there are a lot of folks who realized yesterday that surveillance is bad and many are suggesting well-intentioned but misguided strategies for fighting it talk to us

“Agents can identify people on the street through facial recognition, trace their movements through license-plate readers and, in some cases, use commercially available phone-location data to reconstruct daily routines and associations.” All surveillance tools people have pushed back on for ages…

Good thing to tell a community organising against an oppressive government: "Here is the best software you can run to reduce the risk that authorities will observe you, but here are the caveats" Bad thing to tell a community organising against an oppressive government: "First, buy this weird phone"

People generally have no idea how pervasive the panopticon is, and come up with silly security measures to soothe themselves. Which isn't to say that there aren't measures that one _can_ take that can help, but common ideas of what those measures are, typically do nothing or make things worse.
