Lorenzo was 52. Joan was 26. Both fathers, killed by ICE. We have no body camera footage from either case because neither agent had one on. Secretary Mullin had months to fix that. At what point does "working on it" become "doesn't want the American people to see the truth"?
Good news. The @wnba.com is also on the official app of sports.
The WNBA should do the same.

Regarding the nefarious vandalizing of the Reflecting Pool, I would like to put forward my list of suspects for the White House’s consideration:
Fear not. The U.S. Army has begun implementing a COIN strategy to combat the unchecked growth of algae. We need to separate the radical algae from the broader population of water through targeted raids on algae blooms and civil construction projects to build up the reflecting pool’s capacity.
It's not the thing that's caused the most death and harm, but pointlessly and maliciously torching our deep-rooted relationship with our closest national friend and neighbor is, in terms of history and national character, one of the most depressing aspects of the broader catastrophe.

Today @sjshancoxli.liberalcurrents.com talks to @sodrock.bsky.social about the state of modern war: the proliferation of drones, the endurance of the human factor, Ukraine's successful strategic bombing campaign vs. Trump's unsuccessful one. www.liberalcurrents.com/the-democrat...

1/ Russian front-line forces in southern Ukraine face a 'critical' situation with food due to Ukraine's middle-strike drone campaign, warns a prominent Russian warblogger. With starvation becoming a risk, he calls for urgent action against the drones. ⬇️
“Everyone, especially in South Sudan, wanted to know if the US really had cut off aid. It was easier for them to believe that the aid organizations were lying to them than to think that the United States would do this.”
Trump destroyed USAID. Now people are dying.
ProPublica’s Brett Murphy and Anna Maria Barry-Jester examine how America’s foreign aid cuts are threatening the survival of the world’s most vulnerable populations.

Congratulations, Virginia! Republicans are trying to tilt the midterm elections in their favor, but they haven’t done it yet. Thanks for showing us what it looks like to stand up for our democracy and fight back.

I will simply say that Cowen is inexcusably incorrect, and I would buy John a beer if I could.
Literally the first comment. Also, the fact that authoritarians *can* lose elections in some systems does not mean democracy is unaffected. Would Cowen prefer to live in an illiberal democracy or competitive authoritarian state? Are they really the same as, say, Canada?
it is really disturbing how effective the Iranian propaganda is, especially because we lost so much valuable time and energy obsessing over deepfake this, deepfake that. This shit is using animated Lego figures

We cannot minimize and normalize genocidal rhetoric as "some colorful language." It'll numb and inure us, undermining our capacity to make proper moral distinctions, engage in moral reasoning itself. @mattjj89.bsky.social at @theunpopulist.net open.substack.com/pub/theunpop...

Americans, this is going to sound like a meme, but please get the Dems to explicitly announce that Alberta will not get any deal from the US should they seperate and/or be annexed
The use of the word “attacked” in this headline is stunningly irresponsible. If you read other, less click-bait accounts of this incident: it was alleged drone *sightings*. And I remain VERY unconvinced sightings like these are even drones, instead of “jumpy people getting confused.”
Yikes, here's a HUGE story that it seems not enough folks are reporting on yet. Drone swarms of unknown origin this month apparently attacked an important Air Force base—"the first time a US airbase was temporarily put out of operation in wartime, something that never happened even in World War II."
