I have cut back on earphones on dog walks and short trips to the shops, when I used to quite enjoy audiobooks or songs. But it’s because the chances of me getting demolished on the pavement by a speeding electric bike have increased a hundredfold in recent years, not for any music in humanity.

this isn't about choice or preference, this is about physical and medical safety. this isn't about telling trans people to suck it up or whatever, this is a clear effort to exclude them from public life. and we need to be saying that, not couching it in the phobe's language of choice
Exactly this. The ban might say a trans guy can't use a male bathroom. But the intention of the ban, and the people behind it, is very much that he can't use the female bathroom either. When was the last time you were outside your own house for the length of a working day or more without peeing?

Bathroom bans are intended to prohibit trans people from using the bathroom, or any public accomodations, at all.. Like be for real here.

It’s hard to think of a larger actual social contagion than the massive rise of numerous bigotries (racism, transphobia, ableism etc) amongst cishet, able-bodied, neurotypical, middle-age, middle-class white people within the last decade.
