disabled people who cannot work deserve three meals a day (and snacks!), a nice, accessible house, and not to live in poverty.
This kind of posture has always suggested to me someone who regards their appointed role as disciplining others who are insufficiently ascetic, and I just don't find that sort of thing a particularly convincing theory of change
But what are we fighting for if not joy, and the ability to seek it? What are we fighting for if not for the ability to occasionally be indolent, luxurious, unserious? To not always, every second, have our minds turned toward politics?
The city could fix this intersection by simply putting in place a curb that is the same as the street one block north. It could even go further and put in curb bulbs that extend to where drivers frequently park right up against the intersection.
Jason@jrock08.bsky.social · 3d agoHere's a diagram to explain what happened. The red arrow is the driver the green arrow was me. The pavement and lack of curbs encourages dangerous turns. Had I just grabbed my brakes the driver would have hit me head on, I was forced to go left into the "opposite" lane to avoid a collision.
Now that he's safely won re-election, I will provide an important reminder: Jon Ossoff abandoned his wife and newborn baby to fly into DC to vote for the crypto industry's priority bill, and that an anti-corruption politics that doesn't cover that doesn't do enough.

people don't talk this way about an area they care about and want to thrive. "douse it in bleach" is not coming from a place of care or solidarity with the people who actually live there. this is someone who's gleeful there's crime and homelessness they can instrumentalize to grab power.

The thing that John Fetterman, Haley Stevens, and Brianna Wu have in common is that they all believe that they are more entitled to speak on behalf of Jews than actual Jews are
Judaism and Islam are old religions. For more of shared histories than not we coexisted. People in power have always benefited from division and hate. We do not have to help them. The future is intersectional and peace not division and hate.

Also, not saying all Jewish people are pro-Israel (speaking from experience) either at all or to the point where they'd switch parties they typically vote for.
Some people in those categories may still vote Republican, sure, over Israel, but when your life may be in danger, there are bigger problems.
