Crime rates have fallen *massively* in the past 40 years. The homicide rate in Canada was 40% lower in 2025 than in 1985.
Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.
I think it's time to recognize that if you subscribe to The Athletic and share their stuff, you are supporting a larger framework that absolutely demands bigotry be treated with some level of decorum. It's not quite the Harry Potter fan dilemma, but it's not far off from it.
How about every time the government has to order workers back to work for the sake of the "national public interest," the CEOs of the companies they work for have to go to jail for a year, as punishment for being so bad at their jobs that they created strike conditions at such a crucial industry.

If anyone is in Niagara next weekend, I highly recommend the re-enactment of the siege at Fort Erie on Saturday night. There's a candle light tour through the aftermath and the captured fort afterwards. The reenactors are great, and camped out there all weekend www.niagaraparks.com/events/event...

I'm off delivery for 2 weeks and I have subscribed to too many podcasts. I'm still backlogged from 2 weeks ago when I was in class for a week. What, am I supposed to just drive around for 5 hours a day on my own dime?

Feels like a big year for spiders. I have a laundry line in my basement I hang my non-dryer stuff on and I went down to get the laundry and there were 4 webs in my way. Half my security cameras at work make it look like giant spiders are attacking the falls.
Alberta Worker does a great job keeping Labour and workers in the news, when many outlets are cutting or have cut the Labour beat years ago.
Last month, 153 readers of The Alberta Worker sent in over $2000 to help support independent labour journalism. You can help, too. albertaworker.ca/support
Here we see in the distance, a relic from an ancient civilization that sacrificed whales and walruses to their evil gods.
"Liberal bubble" has only ever meant anywhere where right wing perspectives aren't artificially elevated and forced into everyone's feeds.
"Bluesky is a political echo chamber" okay but I'm mostly here to chat with fun internet people and post art and make jokes, I cannot stress how much I don't care

That's an easy question to answer. They changed the minister for Labour to the minister for Jobs. That says it all.
"She said the government shouldn’t make it easier to push workers around just because Trump is pushing Canadian companies around." “They need to resist these kinds of claims from employers that because we have instability created by Trump that the solution is to roll back workers’ rights.”
Only a genius that is the expert at opposing trump would fire people then realize you need them and beg them to come back. Trump government would never do this.
