If you read my post on Ko-Fi, you already know my household now has two disabled folks now, at least for the next 6 weeks. Mars took a nasty fall on his bike. We just got home from the ER a few hours ago, his wounds are much worse than initially thought.
Disabled people tried to warn you. We were one of the first groups targeted by the Nazis. Fascists will always come for the “useless eaters”. They want to institutionalize us. Hide us away from the rest of society. Remove our supports so we either die or disappear. It’s eugenics.

A win! The Supreme Court has denied the Trump administration’s emergency request to enforce new mail-ballot restrictions ahead of the midterm elections. The decision leaves the lower court’s injunction in place, meaning the new USPS restrictions will not take effect for this election.

Zohran Mamdani released 170K documents revealing that post-9/11 asbestos levels remained dangerous for months, despite officials saying the air was safe. As we saw at the start of COVID, officials still treat essential workers as expendable. This is a long-overdue step in the right direction.
This administration is so unbelievably petty, going after rainbow sidewalks and trying to erase them across the country.
Friday morning, I was gardening when I checked my phone. A request had gone out for help. For 25+ hours, ICE had been laying siege to a quiet neighborhood in Frederick, MD. Community members were afraid, some didn’t want to leave their homes. ICE vehicles seemed to be lurking on every corner.
This is shameful discriminatory and misogynistic reporting. People aren’t choosing disability to be “cool”. Young women don’t have to “prove” to you that they’re sick. Disability rates are skyrocketing because we’ve left a disabling virus rip through the population for over 6 years.

We still owe $1166.59 for rent and the landlord just called to remind us that a late fee of $89 will be charged tomorrow. So I am hoping with all my hopes, that there are folks out there needing some art to spruce up their spaces.

A drug that only works if started within 72 hours of an exposure leaves no room to sort complicated logistics after an exposure. I think it's fairly obvious that having everything sorted beforehand would make the most sense from the perspective of anyone who is, e.g., medically complex.

I also don't use purchased stock art or clip art. There's an Etsy seller that got called out for copying other wing makers in the last couple years in the SVG files they sell for wing making, who also sells gen AI content. It's why so many are offering the same designs now, they all buy from them.
