Enrico🐀@redbassett.com · 3d agoI'm not being facetious, this is a sincere take, but after spending many many hours over the years mulling solutions to distracted drivers, I've firmly landed on not removing the distracted part but rather the driver part. We need solutions to reduce phone use driving, but also driving.

Did an anyone else notice almost all of the big ‘Do Not Enter’ signs were removed from Bryant a few months ago? 36th still has one but I think almost every other block is missing one from at least 40th-Lake St (which I frequent the most). I’ve seen more drivers going the wrong way. 😔
This truck was just parked on the Hennepin bikeway ramp to Bryant. Minneapolis is too hesitant to put solid barriers (like concrete bollards) to cars where it is obvious we need them, and it’s leading to an infestation of drivers violating spaces where they inconvenience and harm everyone else.
It makes no sense for the police to be allowed to do this. But if we’re going to do it, let’s let another dept have a turn. I propose public works gets as much money as they can spend in the interest of safety - walk/bike/traffic calming infrastructure.

I had a convo with a neighbor recently where I shared that I had solar (we were standing in my yard) and they're like "I don't see them! that's great!" and I said NO that is not great, I was actually bummed my solar wasn't visible from the street cuz that's how you get neighbors to get solar

Protected bike lanes ensure this kind of delivery behavior. Build more of them.
I agree, but also...maybe a product doesn't always need to "go somewhere". Maybe some products are great and done, and should just...be.

I am telling everyone I know that they should get rid of the pass through right turn at the light at Snelling and Montreal. It makes it dangerous for bicyclists on the (currently) on street painted bikeway on Montreal
Finally, not to be catty, but one of SOS's big talking points is that Summit is not important - we should really be talking about North South routes. Well, here we go, Montreal to Snelling is a big leg in one of the few viable routes out of W7th North into Mac Grove. Why aren't they advocating here?
