Per their statement, AIPAC is committed to backing anyone who puts the interests of Israel above the interests of working people in the USA. Even if that means supporting Republicans. This is why AIPAC sucks. Because they think they can buy our government. Fuck AIPAC. We need to win in November.
Congratulations @abdulelsayed.bsky.social! Outspent 11 to 1, Abdul proved that people-powered campaigns can still beat big money. Michiganders chose hope over fear, and a future rooted in dignity, justice, and opportunity.
Donavan McKinney's win means that Detroit has a Black representative again. That's meaningful for a whole lot of folks. (And now certain ones can stop dreaming about taking back Rashida's seat, because that's not happening. LOL!)
Black Detroiters have been voting for progressives longer than some of your faves have actually BEEN progressive. Rashida Tlaib was first elected to the Congressional seat once occupied by John Conyers, who consistently advocated for M4A. thepulseinstitute.org/2019/11/02/j...

Another win for progressives. He replaces Shri, who represented me, and was a total clown.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Donavan McKinney wins Democratic nomination for U.S. House in Michigan's 13th Congressional District.
Thank you, Michigan. I love you from the bottom of my heart!
Everyone got a little bit of what they wanted in Tuesday's primary elections. It was a good night for the Democratic establishment, the progressives and Republican candidates endorsed by President Trump. n.pr/4bxIDRQ

By winning, El-Sayed scored a signature victory for progressives far bigger than others that preceded it given Michigan is a key swing state and has a history of favoring far more centrist candidates for statewide office, writes @detroitfreepress.bsky.social Washington correspondent Todd Spangler.

Any AES supporter would have been thrilled with a win of any margin as recently as a month ago. A few late polls showing a bigger lead shouldn’t change that reality. He won against the Dem establishment and $62M of PAC money. He was barely on the radar when he entered the race.
Democrats endorsing the Democratic nominee as soon as they're nominated is good and more Democrats should do it more often. (Not that my "endorsement" matters, but AES absolutely has it and we should do everything we can to ensure he keeps Michigan's Senate seat in D hands this November).
Body isn't even cold yet
convincing michiganders to get behind aes because his name is abdul THE sayed and it’ll piss off ohioans
the best funded senate campaigns win 80-85% of the time, and outside money is even more decisive in primaries. abdul el-sayed was outspent 9:1 it's frustrating to see polling is still so broken, but that shouldn't diminish el-sayed's accomplishment
Progressives and DSA literally won all 3 seats in Michigan they were contesting - Senate, and two house seats
There’s such a fascinating story told in these numbers
