Leftist child of the 2000s. I weep for days gone by.

This is the right thing to say and I wholeheartedly support it and believe it but it is frustrating and aggravating that he's been saying this for months and months and, like Mamdani, some people on here take this as a rhetorical pivot after the primary rather than just sincerity.

El-Sayed: "My commitment to Jewish safety is the same commitment that I have to the safety of my own daughters. Because if there is one question of political philosophy that ought to animate us all, it's what would we do if we treated all our kids like they were all of our kids?"

My (Stevens Voting) mother said "I think he'll be good" when I brought up that El-Sayed immediately made that "Jewish Safety" speech after his Primary Win.

Yeah. El-Sayed needs to IMMEDIATELY quash any internal sectarianism. Absolutely reject any bigotry this primary might cause. Don't compromise on your values but cast the broadest net possible. He did clearly get a bit arrogant at the end of the Primary so time to make nice.

A gracious concession: “I want to congratulate Abdul El-Sayed on winning the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. He is a doctor, a community health official, a Rhodes Scholar, and a dedicated Michigander. I am proud to offer my support as he takes on Mike Rogers in the general election…

I really should go to sleep but... fuck I hate this so much. Ingham County (Lansing) just netted AES like 3k more votes. I don't see where Stevens can possibly make up the rest but Goddamn I want it confirmed.

Very heartening news out of Missouri and Kansas. I know all of us here are by definition Terminally Online, but it gives me a lot of hope for the future of our country that folks are rejecting blatant authoritarianism and crony corporatism more and more.
