Do people who think AI generated feedback will help a kid learn to write actually mean what they’re saying? The idea that writing instruction can be automated is so bad and irresponsible that it’s actually kind of hard to know where to begin

I also like how the distance & mediation offered by works out of step with the current moment lend themselves to different interpretations & framings. That’s especially important for folks who might be constrained by different cultural/political contexts. My project below as an example!

When Olivia Rodrigo sang, "I won't settle for a guy with a fake job/They seem so desperate for loving, but, baby, I'm not" she was commenting on the way AI tech oligarchs are trying to shove the technology on us because they lack their own sense of self and purpuse. In this essay, I will...

It’s also really clear to me this week that the people telling us that AI will transform work…haven’t seen a lot of jobs where people work.

Every day, this administration continues to target LGBTQIA+ kids. It’s incredibly harmful and does the exact opposite of what our shared goal should be: protecting kids. The LGBTQIA+ community and all our students deserve better.

I usually show SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE to my film students because it's just so, so perfect for teaching a traditional hero's journey structure. Honestly, it's just perfect in all respects. What would you even change about it?

higher education is the LARGEST employer in 20 states and in 60 of the 100 top cities; when the regime attacks students and faculty it is sabotaging local economies, local restaurants, local services, local real estate.

The reappraisal / course correction started with Whitney's "I Will Always Love You" cover, which kicked off the recognition of the quality of her songwriting. Because that came not long after her own hit singles dried up, Dolly never really went away the way others of her era did.

I don't know when people woke up to Dolly, because when I was a kid she was just considered a fun celebrity to have around. And then, I don't know when, maybe as late as the 2010s, it was like people looked at her body of work and realized holy shit wait actually

Dolly Parton knew what it was like to struggle as she fought for working families her whole career. From providing free books to kids to giving working women our "9 to 5" anthem, she was an icon and an inspiration. Rest in power to our union sister. We will always love you.

My father-in-law retired from Dollywood a few years ago. He got my husband & I front row tickets to a Dolly concert back in summer 2016. She was amazing in all the ways you can imagine! She sang most of her hits (w/ a few deep cuts). What a catalogue! Truly one of the greatest American songwriters.
