"Perhaps he was trying to persuade the bullies to like him, though that's not how pandering to bullies usually goes in my experience. And sure enough, the Republicans have unveiled their attack line. Here it is: "Talarico is for they/them." Oh. If only."

I wrote about the necessity of persuasion (and its pitfalls), a disappointing statement from a national figure, and how we might disrupt traditional popular exclusionary and bigoted stories of Them, by challenging them with open and expansive stories of Us. www.the-reframe.com/us-and-them/

Yep. I've had to explain this even to blue state trans electeds: here in TN, we *had* the rights to healthcare, accurate ID, playing sports, etc. We lost all of those rights we already had! I was one of the last trans people who could get their gender changed on their driver's license!

people act like the fight for trans rights only began after gay marriage was legalized but that is completely ahistorical. trans people in 2026 aren't fighting for new rights, we're fighting to not lose rights that we'd already had for decades

It’s all just a lie. I get so annoyed when I hear democrats say “well parents have real concerns…” no they don’t. Real concerns are addressed by knowledge and data. Prejudice is not. If knowledge doesn’t change their position, they’re just bigots.

they're going to scale back all their investments and shit, and then pretend it's because they're being diligent and responsible and cautious and try to look good, instead of them just simply knowing their investments will not return anything. do not fucking buy this heel turn for a second

and so what's happening is that, like rats seeing an opportunity to flee the sinking ship, they're going bail from all these investments under the guise of "caution" ...watch the narrative shift from "OMG AGI YOU'RE ALL COOKED AI'S GONNA KILL YOU ALL" to sudden level-headed skepticism. Just watch

my belief is that it almost certainly is that AI is inches from actually popping, because people are catching on that AI absolutely cannot deliver all it's promised and all the investments into it are going to explode. They charge too much for tokens, too many data centers are being cancelled

I am watching this AI drama like I'm TMZ right now so after getting exposed for sniping that physics prize by stealing some legit mathematicians' work, and that one quitter who was like "it's gonna kill us all" suddenly elon and sam altman are both are like "hmm maybe we should scale back"

Too many Democrats concede as "fact" the stereotype-driven propaganda that far-right groups like the Alliance Defending Freedom have promoted: that trans athletes at all ages and forever have a competitive advantage and that safety, even, is at issue. A long body of research disproves these claims

Republicans are putting transphobia on the November ballot in seven questions in five states. The measures reflect broad anti-feminist aims, from "sex verification" for girls to limits on reproductive rights, an analysis by @billiejsweeney.bsky.social for Assigned Media and Important Context finds.

There really is an expectation in cis society that trans people ought to accept second class status. In voting for anti trans “goodies”, in accepting segregation. Always just an outrage at not accepting oppression and our status as lesser

Transphobia paved the way to Trump’s win in ‘24 and has since led the US to the edge of destruction as a free, democratic society Listening to the grifting Democratic strategists now is a sure way to lift MAGA once more and ensure its extremist policies are enacted: racism, misogyny and homophobia

7/x If you make it safer for us to vote for anti-trans dems because you fight anti-trans messaging, more of us will be willing to hold our noses and vote for anti-trans dems. Not all of us! We won't all feel sufficiently safe. But some of us! More than if you didn't have our backs.

Very disheartening to see more and more Dem politicians lean into anti trans positions and when trans people say "man, this sucks" they get swarmed by people yelling at them for handing elections to the GOP. Wish they had that energy for the politicians.

Late last week, the HHS released a report claiming to show a link between "transgender ideology" and political violence. Among other bizarre features of this unpublished, non-peer reviewed paper it included a grand total of 13 transgender people. assignedmedia.org/breaking-new...

The endless takes demanding "moderation" from Democrats never spell out precisely how this message is supposed to be delivered. "I am pro-trans but not too pro-trans" looks to the left like you are anti-trans and to the right like you are not anti-trans enough.
