EHRC Code of Practice comes into effect today so remember to be an absolute pain in the arse to any service provider who is trying to actively enforce it.

Rogue question but does any friend in the UK want a kitten? We have 6 looking for trusted homes!
Also while I personally have never broken any laws ever, I would posit that if you have or intend to do so, public social media would not be a wise venue for discussing it.
The "gender critical" movement have lost both of these cases today.
Wait til she finds out what her party has done to toilets for everybody
No one should be expected to work for hours without access to a toilet. Suppose they have a heavy period? It's unacceptable that train drivers are still being let down on this. Solidarity with @aslefunion.bsky.social. Every worker deserves dignity at work. www.theguardian.com/business/202...
Get it up ye! Love how quickly the courts managed to process this and flush it out. GCs just throw money at wasting everyone's time and energy over the pettiest of nonsense. Money that could be spent, i dunno, supporting women and girls to do literally anything instead.
honestly i think buckaroos consider a daily gratitude practice to be some overwhelmingly difficult thing and really it is just this. very nice work bud
This is probably silly, but every now and then I stop and look at things like viaducts, shopping carts, chickens eating corn, or cats rolling there and back in sunlight and think how incredibly unlikely all of this is in the grand scheme of things. We could've been a barren ball of rock.
“food for thought” buddy my thoughts don’t need any food at all. been trying to starve them fuckers for years and they still keep doing the thing
Last night I dreamt that Sam Reich was directing Avengers Doomsday. It was an interactive/immersive experience where we watched literally every superhero get assassinated by scary masked villains and then had to a) survive the assassins ourselves and b) figure out wtf was going on.
We tried to make something meaningful, beautiful, fun and ultimately moving. Please listen. Maybe even share. I'm feeling a bit lost and am looking for something to set my compass by. rustyquill.com/show/rez-high/

🚨 BREAKING We've filed a complaint to the Charity Commission about Sex Matters, detailing 46 incidents which we think, together, amount to misconduct and mismanagement. But we also need wider action against charities spreading hate - help us tell the government & Commission they must step up 👇

BBC burying the lede here until paragraph 3 - JKR bankrolled this and LOST. I repeat - JKR bankrolled this lawfare against the Belfast Film Festival and... LOST. It can be done! www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Furious that Chris Nolan would disregard historical accuracy in adapting The Odyssey by making a "movie" with "cameras" instead of memorizing the entire story and then going on a nationwide tour to sing it to us while tripping on ergotized barley
Incredible statement from the Church in Wales on the ignominious Code of Practice: "The Church in Wales will not use equality law exemptions to exclude trans people from our worship, our sacraments, our pastoral care, or our common life." www.churchinwales.org.uk/en/news-and-...

A lovely story I ought to share more often: best wedding I've ever done the music for was a renewal of vows for a couple who'd been together 50+ years, and one partner had just transitioned, so they wanted to update everything and have another celebration as two wives. Grandkids did the readings...
This has been an enormous change in my lifetime, and something I'm holding onto for hope. All of my parents family friends - a lot of them fairly 'old-fashioned' people - now have stories of 'well, {x}'s husband, who's now her wife, well, they're both so much happier now...' and it matters.
Just had meeting with kiddo's school. She has been fully supported, treated with full equality & dignity for years. All of that changes from September. Full segregation & humiliation across the board. The school staff cried in the meeting. This will absolutely lead to children's deaths 1/2
How lovely he was doing a speech about purging antisemitism when he was waving flags during a racist riot and doing a rivers of blood speech and values Palestinian life not at all.
Remember Starmer ignored the findings of the Forde Report, because he was hoping antisemitism was a huge problem in the Labour Party. It was nowhere near the levels of anti black and anti Muslim hatred. So he and Blairite colleagues ignored the findings. THAT’S what I will remember him for.
Here are two things that are true: 1. Trans people in the UK (and elsewhere) are suffering immense harm and persecution, and it's affecting almost of all our mental health. 2. Being vile to other trans people (or anyone) on here is still completely unacceptable, and there is no excuse for it.

People forget this. Austerity was a purposeful, economically unnecessary, political decision which hurt those who can’t work the hardest. These deaths were entirely predictable & avoidable, but for my whole life, people have argued in favour of austerity. share.google/oTRdJYHfO3mn...

Quick story about allyship. I just popped into my work mailbox to make sure my Out Of Office was on (I'm part-time) and found an email from my manager. He'd forwarded me and the rest of the team a response from his local MP about the current butchering of trans rights in the UK. (1/4)
The Government has confirmed that the EHRC’s new Code of Practice on Services will come into force on 5 August. If this results in you experiencing discrimination when accessing services, pls contact my clerks at pa@gclaw.co.uk. 🏳️⚧️❤️🔥🧑⚖️ #TransRights #EqualityAct #HumanRights #LGBTQ #CommunityMatters
🧵Aug: the Code of Practice comes into force. Sept: safeguarding and RHSE guidance in English schools. The net result will be pervasive segregation of trans children and young people that cuts across every part of their lives outside of the home. So: I'm asking you to donate to LGBTQ+ youthwork now⬇️
With new education guidance that could segregate Trans+ kids from toilets, there's a wave of hostile policymaking targeting Trans+ children What we can do to support them @nancymk.bsky.social
Remember Streeting's review into whether young people are being overdiagnosed with ADHD, autism, and mental health issues? Well, the interim report is out, and there's a reason the media are silent on it (spoiler: it proves what a lot of us have been saying all along)
