Back in 2020, as a pediatric hematologist married to a physician, we signed up to volunteer in a field hospital for patients with COVID. We wrote our wills and worried about getting our kids sick. I posted about terrifying outcomes in kids and received death threats. Fauci is a goddamn hero.
Dr. Anthony Fauchi’s treatment by Congress this week will cause many intelligent and potentially life-saving experts to avoid public service. Americans will die unnecessarily in future disease crises because of Rand Paul and MAGA behavior.

I don’t think we have fully grappled with the death of Academia—or the long years of watching its corpse be driven by capitalist necromancy. It is past time we look this square in the face. The university and all it stood for has been murdered. And I do not think we can resuscitate.
I chaperoned a middle school field trip, and when my group saw a cybertruck in the wild they all pointed and cackled at it. They have a song they all sing about how stupid these cars are. Feel like this universal middle school disdain should be a variable in the historical car sales failure index

As much as I love the World Cup, I hate when people say “the World Cup proves we would all get along if not for our leaders,” because it absolves us of all accountability. It is up to us, the people, to hold our governments accountable for their actions.
No one is going to believe this shit in 20 years. No one. This was the president of the United States? And his party leaders did nothing, even though they hated him? Not possible.

They’re packaging it like this so it looks like a shallow trend, but Gen Z has gone through two financial crises, a pandemic, rising fascism, active shooter drills since they were toddlers, and are now being told by the oligarchy they’re to be replaced by robots. Socialism is the logical conclusion.

This country hates kids. All the 3rd spaces are either closed or they need adults present, or MONEY. The kids' misbehavior is communicating an unmet need, and instead of finding solutions, adults are punishing the kids... then get upset when the kids don't respond favorably 🙃

This kind of info is so helpful to read. GOP seems like a big malicious monolith and hopeless to resist sometimes. They're big and malicious, but they are incompetent and can't collaborate. They are defeatable.
