It was good to hear Ed Miliband making an explicit case on #Today this morning that reducing inequality should be a core objective of economic policy. He's much the most persuasive advocate of the government's economic strategy, & of the philosophical case for things like the workers' rights bill.

In fact he seems totally uneducated , uncultured. The poorest persons on Twitter may have access to more beauty & meaning in life than the “most wealthy person in the world.”

It's still illegal to discriminate against you for being trans, but is legal to discriminate against you for any expression of that transness is a frankly absurd interpretation of the law and it's extremely evident none of these people sincerely think trans people should exist.

I see that the Labour re-appointee for the EHRC chair is insisting trans people use mythical, segregated third spaces as a way of existing in society Not sure she understands the "Human Rights" part of the name. But tbf the supreme court didn't either

If a male person is allowed to use a women only service or facility, it isn’t any longer single sex, then it becomes a mixed sex space”, she told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme. “But I have to say, there’s no law that forces organisations to provide a single sex space, and there is no law against them providing a third space, an additional space, such as unisex toilets, for example.” Asked how she would respond to trans people who are worried about not being able to use any public loos or changing rooms as a result of the ruling, she said: “There isn’t any law saying that you cannot use a neutral third space, and they should be using their powers of advocacy to ask for those third spaces.”
