Just as Trump demonstrates the USA is not a reliable ally he’s also demonstrated that err Ukrane is a more technologically advanced one? I’m not saying Trump is definitely a progressive sleeper agent. But from climate to US imperialism could a progressive sleeper agent really have done better?!

It's a nice idea but until these vulnerable households grab their bootstraps and own a couple of newspapers or at the very least start writing for them I don't think this would be very wise for govt! Look at WFA and private school vat. You have to consider while all voters are nominally equal...

The VAT cut on electricity bills in October is not the most cost effective way to support vulnerable households this winter.

25% of the cash benefit of a VAT cut will flow to the richest fifth of families, compared to 16% for the poorest fifth. 
 Targeted energy discounts could see low and middle income families gain more than twice as much.
