Readiness is a different can of worms, because you can invest in MRO to help to a point (the preexisting hole was much deeper there) but you can't regain the time lost from high end training and reset without more time, and that requires the war to actually stop/deployments to end

It's really just the worsening of the same munitions and readiness issues that hand existed for some time, but there is a lot more capacity now (and coming) if we can stop burning it up as soon as it arrives

Peter@notalawyer.bsky.social · 2d agothe best HS teams in the country have multiple guys who will be in the NBA in a couple of years. they aren't normal high schools, they're basketball factories. but this literally doesn't matter. the value of women's sports isn't contingent on their performance vis a vis men.
This is………normal operating conditions, like it or not. This is not a condition especially created by extension at sea, even multiple extensions. Any part of my body that ever touched a Navy shower curtain had to get washed again.

Yes, it's a bad strategic setback for the Gulf states, creating new liabilities they'll have to deal with. And a major strategic gain by Iran. To the extent the Gulf states acquiesce, it's likely because they see Iranian victory as a fait accompli and think tolls are better than bombs + blockade.

Tongue in cheek. But in all seriousness, this really is the Trump/Hegseth/MAGA/Manosphere theory of war. Both in the literal sense that cartoonish displays of try-hard toughness are key to defeating enemies, and in the meta sense that their war effort prioritizes memes for their domestic audience.

Also, the whole separation plan seems to rely on AB's continued prosperity by exporting oil and gas to a much cheaper oil and gas producer, because these people are very smart and have thought this all through.
