Two more GOP amendments go down to crushing defeats, both in MO. #4 would have made future ballot initiatives impossible to pass by requiring winning a majority statewide *and* in each congressional district. #5 would have eliminated the state income tax.

AP calls a DEFEAT for Kansas Amendment 1, which would have replaced the current merit-based selection of state Supreme Court justices with partisan statewide elections. GOP wanted this change to try to overturn a ruling protecting abortion rights, but voters emphatically said no.

when all of this is said and done and we’re (hopefully) rebuilding from the current nightmare, i rly do hope every person who worked to cover up the biggest pedophilia sex trafficking scandal in history has to explain why they did it every time they’re in public for the rest of their sad lives

Banks permitted millions in suspicious transactions tied to Epstein—and former 60 Minutes correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi had the story months ago. But the report would never air. trib.al/ZShZlIS

DoorDash claims to support DC’s autonomy… while actively undermining it. If you’ve already deleted your account and the app from your phone, then I hope you’ll join Free DC on August 7 and call on DoorDash to withdraw support from H.R. 9720. Oppose federal attacks on the people of DC.

how can you use x pt: infinity but ppl are sending me accounts using AI to make ariana grande look MUCH skinnier and gaunt and i just wanna say using the child undresser site’s AI to spread misinfo to torment one woman literally leaving the public eye is pure evil and i hope you rot in hell ◡̈

My new job that starts tomorrow is providing me with a work phone which means I AM FREE OF OUTLOOK AND TEAMS NOTIFICATIONS (on my personal phone!!!)

I love Talarico and hope he wins. But he’s already raised $70M On the flipside, control of critical state legislatures will come down to seats where candidates raise 0.1% of that. I’ve researched the highest leverage swing district candidates you should donate to secure.actblue.com/donate/donat...

Donate to the candidates on the front lines of the fight against MAGA gerrymandering

These are anti-MAGA state candidates in *extremely* close races

Not the most important thing here, but why don't NC, SC, GA, FL count as "the coasts." All four states are on the coast. TX, LA, MS, AL are coastal states too, but the southeast states are on a main ocean coast. Looks like just another way to say red/rural = real & good; blue/urban = fake & bad.

I really hate Elissa Slotkin's patronizing "my theory of the case is that what works in the middle of the country will work on the coasts, but not the other way around" shit. It's one of her canned lines that she uses in her eventual attempt to run for president.

Here's my theory of the case: If Democrats can figure out how to win in the middle of the country, we can make it work everywhere else. But what works on the coasts does not automatically work in Michigan, in lowa, in Ohio. So we've got to figure out the middle first.
That is why I have been spending time in the middle of the country, in purple and red places. I've been talking with folks who voted for Trump about how they view things and what they're looking for in new Democratic leaders.
And I want to say something about the Democrats organizing in tough places.
These are people doing the hard work in red places, being good Democrats when it's hard. It is easy to show up where everyone already agrees with you. It is something else to show up where they don't, and do it anyway, because you believe it matters.
I believe it matters. And I am going to keep showing up in those places. I hope you will too.

For years y’all have scrutinized her body at every turn. Then, y’all threw an ED on her. It is INSANE to throw an ED on someone you don’t know. Everyone’s bodies are different. People’s experiences aren’t the same. She asked everyone to stop talking about her body and y’all ain’t listen.

The discourse about Ariana Grande’s body that has gone on for FOUR years (honestly over a decade if we want to tell the truth!) is an indicator of how WARPED society is. WE, YOU, do not know her. We are not her family. We are not her doctor. We don’t know anything about her personal life.
