STATEMENT: Haley Stevens does not speak for Michigan’s Jewish community. Michigan Jews for Democracy rejects Rep. Haley Stevens’ attempt to divide our community by endorsing Mike Rogers two days before the election. Mike Rogers is running a script we’ve seen many times before: claiming to stand for Jewish safety while trafficking with antisemites and perpetuating bigotry against all minorities. Now Stevens has joined him in cynically using our community’s real concerns for their own political gain. Michigan Jews for Democracy is a coalition of 1,000 Jewish Voters, all of whom have publicly committed to voting for Dr. Abdul El-Sayed. This coalition is diverse in perspectives, but we agree on this: the stakes are too high to elect Mike Rogers. He would rubber-stamp Trump’s anti-democracy agenda and join with Trump in attacking the most vulnerable among us. Our coalition refuses to be distracted, and we refuse to despair. Hundreds of us are knocking doors and calling voters right now. We will keep talking to voters until the minute the polls close. We know all of our communities are safest when our democracy is strongest. Mike Rogers as a Senator would be a direct threat to American democracy. As a Senator, Dr. Abdul El-Sayed would be a bulwark for democracy and for our community’s safety.

The issues raised in the amended complaint are matters of state law administered by state officials. State law—as definitively interpreted by the Alaska Supreme Court—put Daniel J. on the ballot months ago. And state officials carefully designed the ballot to minimize voter confusion. The Court should immediately dismiss this lawsuit with prejudice and allow state officials to conduct the general election—including ballot counting and certification—free from unwarranted federal interference.

Too much of this country just kinda ignored what SCOTUS did to us down here (not as exciting as the fantasy of armed soldiers at polling places where white people vote, I guess?) But I think they're also ignoring how *angry* the targeted communities are.
