"people are anthropomorphizing LLMs because they are so astonishingly good at processing human thought and language" people will anthropomorphize a chair if you put the stitches in the right place.
Okay, so I would really like @mark-carney.bsky.social to take a look at Ireland right now, because not only do they have the Artist UBI, artists also don't pay income tax on the first €50,000 they make. That's about $80K in Canada.
You can just say "No, shut up." You can. It really is that simple. He can't make you.
We’re not changing it.
GUMROAD USERS: start planning your exit.
-IMPORTANT- Gumroad has recently updated their website with the intention of phasing out the ability to manually edit your storefront and allowing you to only edit your storefront via AI agents. I will be dropping gumroad support entirely in the near future. More to come as I sort things out.
we have thousands of potential dolly partons and tim curries already walking amongst us. most of them are begging for rent money or getting crushed at a shitty job
“How will we ever replace them?” FUND. THE. ARTS.
Here's the alt-text version but basically There's a "new twitter" called Blue Bird and apparently from the terms and services they have A.I. systems on that website.
There is another "New Twitter" site going live called Blue Bird. If you're an artist or creator, or just despise A.I. and generative crap all together. AVOID IT LIKE A PLAGUE! Here is a snippet from the terms and sevices.
Rest in peace, Peter Cullen 💔 Thank you for giving so much warmth and care to your roles, you've meant so much to a lot of people. May you rest softly in your accomplishments. 'til all are one
A certain AAA studio told employees that their internal gen AI was trained only on local data, but whenever said employees tried to generate an image of a woman holding a gun, it generated Lara Croft. The studio was not Crystal Dynamics, and had never worked on the Tomb Raider IP in any capacity.
I just want to mention: Even if your AI somehow runs locally and you think it's okay, it's still using trained data from a pre-existing dataset which is still full of stolen work. The sheer amount of data gen AI needs is in the hundreds of thousands, you can only get that by scraping
IDW Heart of Steel Bluestreak commission. Line art is traditional Colors are digital Steampunk style Transformers ;) #transformers #Bluestreak #hasbro #heartsofsteel #HOS #commission
might be common knowledge, but some people block channels that use AI in thumbnails. youtube has an option to "never recommend this channel again" and i only ever use it when a channel's thumbnails are all AI i hope someone can convey to aspiring youtubers that it'd be good to grow out of this ASAP
I also wish these guys would stop using AI thumbnails particularly when they aren’t playing an SEO game at all
This needs to be a bigger story. Google Docs is no longer safe for copyrighted material. Any writer on contract needs to stop using it *immediately*.

Scientists have captured the highest definition image of the surface of the sun to date, while testing a telescope. The images reveal swirling hot plasma that could help explain how the sun stores and releases energy.
This is what happens when the priority becomes making content as quickly as possible, rather than making something worthwhile. You need time to think, and have that breathing room to allow yourself to do the job properly. It's not a "bad habit". It's a sign something has gone fundamentally wrong.
Omg not Hank Green using AI for research and calling to his “bad habit” 💀😭🤡
Writers, stop using Gen AI products. In addition to the many other reasons it sucks (tech based on theft, tool of fascism, makes your brain soft) if you are found out, companies that might've wanted to republish you internationally, adapt for film/TV, etc., will label you a lawsuit risk & walk away.
More info: "The problem: publishers and movie companies may not be able to register copyright and come away with a clear title chain if there are certain AI elements in the mix. That’s because AI-aided copy is an amalgamation of many other copyrighted works." deadline.com/2026/07/ai-q...
The "AI Odyssey" crowd made a cyclops with two eyes lolol
150,000 marched yesterday in London for trans rights. Opened the Sky News app. Scrolled and scrolled. Nothing. BBC News app. Nothing. Guardian app. Nothing. This is what actual silencing looks like.
In case you didn’t know, librarians and libraries absolutely whip ass.
At libraries around the country, "Avoiding AI" workshops have elicited unprecedented demand.
a lot more cars in the apt parking lots than usual. people are staying home due to the smoke. it was clear yesterday but the whims of the wind brought the pollution back~
Here’s a PSA for people like me who were raised not to waste food (perhaps rather aggressively) we are now dealing with an unreliable food safety system in the US. If something tastes weird or funny or off IN ANY WAY just throw it away.
Oh this really sucks. Stay vigilant and watch out for this AI hideousness everyone!
my husband sent me an Instagram reel and was like….is this AI? and upon searching: it is a plague of AI fake Natives across TikTok and IG selling various “handcrafted” items. moccasins. earrings. jackets. they all have the same AI website and all the stuff costs $79.99
the sky is a uniform gray-orange and there's a blue haze. the sunlight is orange and muted. Canadian fire season again. stay safe, all. don't breathe your vitamins and minerals
The thing about being ruled by a gerontocracy is that cohort mortality is a probability density, meaning all these fuckers start dying around the same time -- in clusters. The same Weibull Distribution "bathtub curve" explains why batches of light bulbs and hard drives all die in the same month.
