Texas’s drag ban was found to be unconstitutional this morning and one of the plaintiffs who brought the suit was an Austin-based drag queen who often impersonates Dolly Dolly was named in the final judgement itself and after hearing about the lawsuit, she sent that drag queen a signed guitar

My grandmother's phone went off during my godchild's Catholic baptism in a huge, empty church. The ringtone was "Fat Bottomed Girls". She came back from answering, looked at the priest dead in the eye, and said, "that was the big guy, said you're doing a good job."

Sure, it was awkward when my phone went off in church and started playing “Highway to Hell,” but I wouldn’t say it RUINED your mother’s funeral.

Thank you for inviting us to present! We were so delighted to show off the incredible work of the design students who participated and talk a little bit about the policy conversation and real-world development context of single-stair building code reform! Next up: Vice Chair Green and I have invited @portlandneighborswelcome.org and their partners to tell us about a single-stair design competition they recently organized. The competition is part of a broader initiative focused on mid-rise housing development and single-stair building code changes.

My neighbor across the street got burglarized and he said the cops literally said "we're on to these guys" after saying "they've hit 20 houses in the area" and then he asked why they were able to hit 20 houses if the cops were "on to these guys" and that was the end of the investigation lol

It’s so funny when people are like “sure you’re an abolitionist now but wait until you’re the victim of a property crime.” Buddy, the most useful thing the police have ever done for property crime is put the form you need to submit to your insurance online.

my roommate remarked how she already likes living with me because i bring a willingness to solve problems (minor little household annoyances) that she otherwise ignores so i would just like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that you can in fact just do things. do not accept discomfort.

Job hunting right now is largely "is this a low effort scam posting?" But I'm encountering a fun new twist. "is this company asking me to take two different 60+ minute assessments to use my answers to train AI for something challenging?" High effort scam posting, but my effort.

Festus making the national news for something not in the "record setting meth lab explosion" category is bonkers, but a very good sign. Missourians are stubborn and frequently mad as hell, something I hope they're starting to direct at their politicians instead of an astroturfed culture war.

Voters in a small Missouri town, unhappy with the city council’s approval of a $6B data center, ousted all four incumbent council members running for reelection

You could say that Rock n Roll was born 111 years ago today in Arkansas, but probably not where you'd think. Before there was a Chuck Berry or Little Richard, there was those who wanted to be like her. Rosetta Nubin better known as Sister Rosetta Tharpe, the godmother of Rock was born on this day

worth remembering, David Lynch directed “fix your hearts or die” specifically at transphobes. it wasn’t a generic “no mean people allowed” statement, it was said by his Twin Peaks character in defense of a trans woman he cared for and deeply respected.
