Cis people don’t understand what it is to be trans. Something that I’ve really come to the conclusion of, is it’s such a complex and still marginal experience in society, even the most well meaning progressive cis person can’t really grasp it.

Some stats on our Pride bundle :) - of 27 contributors, 22 are transfem, 3 are non-binary - 5 are non-Anglophones, of which 4 are from the global south - 4 are trans women of color - multiple contributors have been/are adult content creators (sex work is work!)

just last week, anon accounts like "Elon Musk" and "Tommy Robinson" instigated a pogrom in Belfast. If we had known who the people behind these anonymous accounts are, we surely would have held them to account as a society!

i guess my point is that internet communities, and the social media strata upon which they exist, are not closed systems. broader social and political circumstances can be, and often are, the harsh winds that churn the water. and a lot of people are afraid and angry right now, far beyond bluesky.

So what you are seeing aren’t trans users trying to use their identities as a shield, but trans users asking questions about their experiences of disproportionate moderation. They’re asking for an explanation of a pattern that you may or may not be aware of.
