Last night I saw a massive scooter gang riding through the streets of Minneapolis, lights on in the dark, laughing and whooping, and it was glorious, and I felt so lucky to be in my city. I had seen the video from the person who was afraid, and it didn't look scary, but: even less scary in person.

I’ve had a great couple days teaching at Alpha Young Writer’s Workshop. The students have stunning voices, great (and wicked) senses of humor, bracing eagerness and intellectual curiosity. We have a lot to look forward to.
