The upshot is that a situation which is fundamentally good for Democrats (without them having to do anything) is now a reason for Democratic supporters to scream at Democrats, seems like a healthy dynamic which is definitely bad for Republicans!

The governor obviously has magic powers, he must use his magic powers, how dare you suggest doing NOTHING instead of simply using his magic powers, you know if the shoe were on the other foot then Republicans would have used their magic powers by now!!! in an endless loop, just exhausting

The whole McConnell / Kentucky thing at this point is so incredibly revealing. Literally every day a new person goes mega viral on bluesky screaming that Democrats are worthless sellouts if they don’t actively help Republicans, and then turning furiously on anyone who points this out

Also, it's long past time to retire vulgar Marxist arguments about how racism and nativism are just a tool that the capitalist class is using to divide the working class. This stuff is not a distraction. It is a central motivating and binding force in politics, both in the US and elsewhere.

One thing you can see with the reaction to birthright citizenship decision is that Great Replacement Theory is now pretty much the center of the American Right's whole project.

Still cannot fucking believe some people think codifying Roe in legislation would have made it past these robed scoundrels. They destroyed a law passed unanimously (the VRA). The Conservatives on the Court voted 4-2 (!!!!!) to destroy a Constitutional amendment via Trump memo.
