“how do we win back trump voters in 2026” we don’t. we create an environment where admitting to voting for trump is so socially embarrassing as to render them completely inert. you don’t “win back” trump voters. you demoralize them into staying home. you make it a dunce cap

If you need to send a fundraising email with the header “We know you’re not an ATM” maybe it’s a sign you ought to reign in the grifter consulting firms that are alienating supporters with a constant stream of panhandling spam to raise money that mostly gets poured back into their own coffers?

Dem fundraising email headed “We know you’re not an ATM”

Things Gavin Newsom has vetoed this week: -A ban on secretly recording people with smart glasses -A ban on ICE agents working for the state government -A ban on websites selling your data -A bill giving native tribes more say over water rights -A bill protecting transgender healthcare providers

Please know that this is one of my few legitimate areas of actual, high-level professional expertise: Kicking the healthiest people off of a health insurance program will bankrupt it. Not 'could;' not 'might,' not 'probably," but absolutely will, with mathematical certainty.

Dr Oz says the Trump administration will kick more than a million people off health insurance because some of them have "never filed a claim"

@taradeenihan.bsky.social Wondering if you have any recommendations for cat friendly heating pads, my senior kitty continues to steal mine, and that's not ideal. Reading reviews these days is a fight against bots, and I know you worked with disabled/senior cats, and might know something?

attacking trans people hurts dem politicians and that take is missing from this whole news cycle. dems attacking trans people makes it more likely you will lose, defending trans people makes it more likely they win I want democrats to win so they need to defend trans people

If you want a rational conversation about tradeoffs you should start by demanding honesty from the industry that has been lying about this technology since its inception, not to mention one of the common talking points being "You're getting this whether you like it or not"

There is a respectable argument for slowing down AI research, but it rests on the danger to all humanity of the technology being abused or going rogue—not the local harms of data centres

I'm gonna have to agree with this take. You can't make the muppet show without famous guests and popular music, and that costs more money than companies are willing to pay, because they're short sighted and want to just monetize the puppets without thinking.

I’m tellin’ ya, they *do not want to pay for music and famous guests*. So yeah, no wonder they’re all going ‘we want to do a Muppet show that’s NOT the Muppet Show ppl know and LOVE’. Cuz that’s worked SO WELL thus far. (We do not talk about Muppets Now, this is a safe space…)
