he/him. fan of the singular "they". punctuation goes outside of the quotation marks.

This estimate isn't even the likely cost - we've heard that the Province may require the removal of all bike lanes, which would cost substantially more than $170 million. If you think that's a waste of your taxes, join us for Critical Mass tomorrow at 6pm. Meet at Churchill Square. #yegbike

In addition to Toronto's recent bike removals, this ride is a chance to show solidarity with Albertans facing their own anti-bike legislation. City staff in Edmonton reported removing existing bike lanes there could cost up to $170M! #BikeTO #YEGbike #YYCbike #BikeSky www.ctvnews.ca/edmonton/art...

Strong active transportation infrastructure gives Edmontonians more affordable ways to get around our city. With 2.8M cycling trips in 2025 and a 43% increase in winter riding, demand is clear. I’ll continue advocating for transportation choices that keep Edmonton affordable, safe and connected.

The UCP might make Edmonton pay up to $170M to rip out its own bike lanes. I've heard reports that the UCP has been asking for costs of full network removals. City numbers put that at $150-170M This is the same gov't that just spent $130M on a glorified opinion poll.

For several years, the current Alberta Minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors, Devin Dreeshen, has been in the media threatening to rip out bike lanes already in place in Calgary and Edmonton. Here he is campaigning for Trump in 2016. Bike lanes are part of the right's global culture war.

Joe Mitchell: "Thank God you're building the ballroom. Thank God you're getting rid of those awful bike lanes. We don't ride bicycles in Iowa."

The active transportation implementation guide for the next budget cycle was released. We will see a shift from rapid expansion to more targeted projects in line with road/neighbourhood renewal. As well as some upgrades to substandard routes and increased winter maintenance. #yegbike

“The opportunity to stand up to the bully has passed. Too much has been given away with too few consequences.” Exactly right. Doug Ford is weirdly obsessed with certain things in the physical City Of Toronto, his ideas are all bad, and Chow has put up no real resistance. (Bradford is a quisling.)

Olivia Chow could've run a campaign focused on standing up to Queen's Park — she didn't, and now we have to live with the potential consequences, writes senior editor John Lorinc. @johnlorinc.bsky.social #TOpoli spacing.ca/toronto/2026...

I feel like the abstentions are a big story here. #abpoli Vote totals aren't quite final, but for questions 4-9 there were 500k-700k people who made the effort to vote, but who didn't vote on those. Did they just think it was BS, like our decades of fake senate elections? Probably.

Not that it will be material, but there's a big error in the results from Calgary Varsity. At almost every other Division question 10 got the most votes, by far. There are a few where it wasn't the top, but not very many. But at Varsity Question 1 had 23,753 more voters than question 10. Nope.

and cbc is not going to stop. right now they're sending their intrepid reporters to the worst nazibars in the province to write weepy puffpieces on the losers.

It’s important to remember the outsized attention given to Alberta separatists by mainstream #cdnmedia, including the CBC. The worst people, backed by dark money & foreign influence ops, were elevated and platformed in unprecedented ways. Given legitimacy, which they will use for future fuckery.

The news today is disheartening, so channel that anger and email your representatives. Tell Danielle Smith to get her hands off Edmonton's affairs, and tell council to NOT comply and repeal the zoning bylaw Use our tool for a starter message 👇 www.growtogetheryeg.com/email-council #yeg #yegcc

Sunday, I dressed up and rode around on an old bike with some friends. We took some pictures, had some laughs, learned some city history. I ended up on the front page of the paper. I’ve been smiling inside for two days. This quiet humble joy is what life is about. It’s not complicated. #yegbike
