why do newspapers still have opinion sections at all. we have the Internet. i spend all day getting facefucked by opinions
the best HS teams in the country have multiple guys who will be in the NBA in a couple of years. they aren't normal high schools, they're basketball factories. but this literally doesn't matter. the value of women's sports isn't contingent on their performance vis a vis men.

there is a strain of lefty discourse where you can’t come to any unflattering conclusions about the populace—those must be explained away by how they are being acted upon by capital—but I think you’ll understand things better if you understand capital can also exploit weaknesses it didn’t create

Most of the land in most farm counties is owned by 1-5 families. They run the place like their own personal kingdoms. There is SO much resentment and straight-up fury about this in rural areas. The fact that no political party's even really trying to speak to it is wild.
I cannot get over how bad it is that NYC no longer has really any pass product at all. The farecap window is random and untrackable. The fare multiple to hit it is very high. Now they're going to try to do citywide bus proof-of-payment without anybody having prepaid their fare with a pass? Disaster!

WELL WELL WELL, I just found out my moving company was bought by private equity, which explains why they were always great when I used them before and now they have simply.... abandoned a bunch of stuff in my apartment and refuse to pick it up until 2 days after my lease is over (????)
