Burning bridges to light my way.

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

The #BronzeAge #UptonLovellShaman's burial in Wiltshire has long been considered an important religious figure & metalworker. It's been barely questioned someone of such status must be male. But now #aDNA analysis revealed that the body is in fact: a woman. 🏺 www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

For writers worried that they won't be able to "prove" their work isn't Spicy Autocomplete--worry not. You thought about every choice and will be able to talk about those choices easily and clearly. Folks who used the slop machine didn't make choices and won't have anything to say about why

People on the Internet know that they can like something and other people can... just not like it, right? Doesn't say anything about either party! Doesn't require a Tumblr fight or a 9,000-word manifesto! Just different people liking different things, all day long, as the Lord intended

It is extremely weird that we're looking at thoughts from one of the world's pre-eminent classicists about a story with nearly three millennia of history, on which she is a recognized expert, and going "I dunno if she's allowed to say that." I promise she is.

READ. @europarl.europa.eu - I would go so far as to say that EU is not without its own arsenal in these disputes. The fines is just one tool. Getting rid of the copyright directive is another. Hardening our courts another. And the nuke in the toolkit - withdrawing access to the EU.

The "Serenity Prayer" (*Serenity to accept things I can't change/Courage to change the things I can/Wisdom to know the difference*) is usually cited as pop psychology or addiction recovery advice, but I think there's a place for it in policymaking. 1/

A giant fist clutching the Android robot. The robot is orange and has Trump's hair. The fist extends from an EU-flag-blue cuff, and it is ringed with yellow EU flag stars. To the side is an old-timey western bar with a drunk, smoking, glaring Uncle Sam leaning on it. The background is a haunted, moonlit forest.

The more shenanigans Trump gets up to with regards to making it impossible to get the fines out of the USA, the more EU needs to make noise that the copyright directive is under scrutiny, and the harder EU needs to make it to use our own courts against EU.

Some might say wearing this shirt to a village show in deepest darkest Lincolnshire is needlessly provocative. But I actually don’t want to provoke anyone or care about their opinions if they don’t agree, nor do I think it’ll convince anyone. I wear it for those who feel reassured by seeing it
