El Sayed: "When it comes to trans rights, this is the right to get the health care that you need...It’s the right not to be discriminated against by your government because of who you are. Because what tends to happen is they come for theirs, then they come for yours"

The idea that we can assent to the taking away of anybody’s rights, and think that somehow the government won’t come for all of our rights, is itself the problem. And, look, I don’t need people to understand how they use their rights. I just need people to agree that the government shouldn’t be able to take any of our rights. I put my face on the ground thirty-four times a day, David. Most people don’t understand why I do it. I don’t need them to understand. I just want to have the right to do it. And when people decide that they want to take away my right to do that, I’ve got a problem. Now, I hope that everybody’s going to show up and say, No, no, no. You can’t stop that person or that community from reflecting and praying as they choose. Similarly, when it comes to trans rights, this is the right to get the health care that you need. That’s really what it comes down to. It’s the right to be who you are. It’s the right not to be discriminated against by your government because of who you are. Because what tends to happen is they come for theirs, then they come for yours, then they come for theirs. And at some point you live in a society where rights are negotiable, and that is not the America I was born in. It’s not the America I know and love. It’s not the America I’m going to allow somebody like Donald Trump to give us.

Another study on youth transition that find that about 97% of all youth who says they're trans turn out to be. Only 1.1% who start HRT stopped it for any reason whatsoever. This is, like, the fifth youth transition study that I'm aware of, and all of their results have been identical.

Canadian researchers found that 97 percent of youth who seek treatment for gender dysphoria still identify as trans years later.

Fascists love authoritarian parenting because it conditions children to accept their place in an unchanging and unchangeable hierarchy, and that "being at the whim of their betters" is an unavoidable fact of life It makes good, obedient kids who terrified of thinking for themselves

A friend reached out this evening to request clarification on an AI apologist’s talking point, and it’s worth reiterating: Digitizing is a process librarians, archivists, and curators understand to preserve the information inside a book as a unique entity. What these bros are doing is destroying.

My absolute minimum standard for the next Democratic president is "revoke Elon Musk's security clearances" Ideally also use that as an excuse to nationalize SpaceX (which he has helpfully folded his other companies under) since he won't be allowed to handle sensitive aerospace stuff anymore

Things like seemingly harmless NYT consumption are big deals to trans people because transphobia, despite being intense and escalating these days, is an oppression often rendered invisible. Trans people are used to being abandoned by cis people, so even small abandonments have an impact.

want to address this one because it’s a common misconception. this whole thing is entirely astroturfed transphobia, and if “good faith” people bought it they never looked into the science (there is no physical advantage for trans girls over cis girls) or the fact that this was a settled matter

dunno. there's a difference between public performative political discourse and personal views... yes, the campaigners are all bad faith, but I certainly know cis parents with gay kids who do in fact see tough issues in girls sports but give no quarter on passports, ids, jobs, bathrooms, violence...

Acton - the *dem* candidate for governor in Ohio - barred trans people from attending her "listening session" with LGBTQ people and refused to allow the leadership of the Progressive caucus into the zoom.

The Gaily Show@thegailyshow.org · 7d ago

Pretty shocking stuff here. According to @ari4ohio.bsky.social, Dr. Amy Acton's campaign refused to allow the leadership of the Ohio Dem Progressive Caucus to attend last night's listening session after Acton announced support for bans on trans athletes. They also wouldn't let Childrey in either.

1. In the aftermath of forcing the Ohio Progressive Caucus to delete criticism of Amy Acton for calling trans girls "boys," progressives were promised a meeting with Acton. Now, we have learned she didn't show up, and kicked trans people out of the meeting. Subscribe to support our journalism.

Dem. Ohio Gov Candidate Amy Acton Scheduled a Meeting With LGBTQ+ Advocates, Didn't Show Up, And Kicked Out Trans People Who Did

The meeting was supposed to be Acton's way of making up for calling trans girls "boys."

This is actually why I believe that Acton will be worse for trans people than Ramaswamy. Actions have consequences, and if Acton doesn't lose or get forced to change, trans people - trans women in particular - will be forced to bear the brunt of those consequences as she normalizes running on-

The unavoidable conclusion is that Acton is a committed transphobe who almost seems to want to prove that transphobic campaigning is viable.

Good-faith concern on this issue would be going, "hmm, professional sports leagues should probably have some standards in place to ensure trans competitors aren't getting an unfair advantage," googling for 5 minutes, realizing every sports league already has those standards and dropping it.

i don't believe anyone has "good-faith" concerns about trans women in sports in 2026. there's been too much time to hear the actual evidence, the actual people affected, and the role the debate plays in attempts to purge trans people from American life. anybody picking that side has made a choice

A lot of people act like the M/M romance fandom is a progressive place of queer acceptance - "if they were homophobic, why read M/M?" But the reality is a lot of these women are deeply homophobic and are into M/M romance specifically BECAUSE they see it as dangerous and taboo and therefore enticing

I said I was never gonna make this video, but here I am. Let's go. Last year, I got married and I posted a honeymoon vlog. And at some point in that video, my wife kissed me on my head. Probably the first time that my wife has kissed me on this channel. And I lost subscribers. Not a few, a lot.

so many people avidly into m/m fandom don't actually like real-life queer people. they'll claim allyship but turn around and say shit like, "bi men don't exist, they're actually just gay", or "there are only two genders" and be furious when called on it they want queer accessories, not queer people

'And the act of my wife kissing me on my head or the fact that two women had got married was enough for some people to go, "Yeah, that's it. I'm out." The most genuinely uncomfortable thing is the same community that dropped me for kissing my wife are probably the same that are reading M/M romance.'
