let’s be honest, a big reason why markets are so bad at distributing resources is that these very same people that love the free market also do everything they can to make governments police the markets in favor of the rich.

On August 11, 2025, life in D.C. changed overnight as President Trump announced a federal takeover of the Metropolitan Police Department and the deployment of National Guard troops and federal law enforcement officers throughout the city. In the months that followed, we've also been subject to the ongoing incursion of the Safe and Beautiful Task Force, the summer of America 250, and the continued meddling of the federal government in our local affairs.

Again, the art direction in the first season of TNG was absolutely top notch, regardless of what you think about the season as a whole.

The two major alien ships introduced in TNG's first season are some of my favourites and I would argue hold up better today than many of the others that followed in terms of originality and refined detailing. The Warbird is a fan favourite but I feel like the Ferengi Marauder is somewhat slept on.
