Disabled performer, feminist, exhausted. Love books, musical theatre. I knit, garden, read, roll my eyes at politicians, yell at ableists, avoid cold weather, back up people making the world better, etc. Trans rights are human rights. Ban cauliflower.

My standard reply to all ai book scammers that I am a practicing witch and placing a curse on them unless they cease their wicked ways. Highly recommend this strategy to other writers & publishing folk. Twice now I've had scammers email back to ask me to lift the curse.

So. Found out a year later that I am in fact allowed to talk to you about books I wrote. I’m even allowed to tell you you should buy them. I’m just not allowed to sell them like…out of my house. Jason can! So. Now that I have fully wasted a year: holy shit I have written 9 books please look

Hi! I'm Anna. I am a disabled and queer author of similarly queer and disabled YA and adult SFF. Will post a short synopsis of each, followed by representation you can expect and links where you can find that work. I will not cover every platform, but my books are available widely. Ready? Long 🧵:

If there was a surface, Maud Lewis painted on it. She turned her small home into a colourful work of art. While she was born with birth defects, she never let that stop her from capturing the beauty she saw in the world. This is her story. 📸 Art Canada Institute 🧵 1/12

Maud Lewis sits at a small table in a brightly decorated room, smiling warmly while holding a paintbrush and a small object in her hands. She wears a floral apron over a green dress and a headscarf. Around her are painting supplies, including jars, brushes, and a dark container on the table. The walls and nearby surfaces are covered with colorful folk-art paintings of flowers, animals, and simple scenes, filling the small space with bright reds, yellows, greens, and blues. Sunlight from the right side illuminates her face and the cluttered painting area.

"I love dusk, the moment when the sun has set but the scattered clouds in the sky are still all lit up in oranges and yellows and pinks, where the sky feels so alive but the light moves so fleetingly that every time you blink, it looks totally different. Maybe the moon is just rising..."

Let’s be clear: what these bastards are doing to these books isn’t digitizing. Digitizing is about preservation and access to the original material. They’re gutting and destroying to make Soylent Green. Don’t let them get away with pretending to do this for humanitarian reasons.

My girlfriend is a genuinely INCREDIBLE editor and has some availability if you need something edited! big small, she'll edit it all! (i just thought of this it's not approved). Read these reviews and follow the link to her website. She is great and kind and patient. Don't miss out

“Too often, we talk about disability and disability issues as if disabled people are all white. We call disability the “Great Equalizer,” but even among disabled people, it’s clear there’s not yet true equality or equity.’ by Anita Cameron, Disability Justice Actvist, in ‘The Inequality of the ADA.

Tax on cis people sharing screenshots of rowling's latest cruelty - one screenshot, one donation to a trans youth group? I know we need to know what she's doing for activist work reasons - but I wish the work we were doing FOR trans youth got as much online traffic as attacks on them.

This is a bit of a cringey desperate post but needs must….😢 I’ve just lost a couple of thousand self publishing a book - I’m a hybrid author (published traditionally and self published) and I decided to self publish my book I was most passionate about to have total control. BUT….

There's a part in the book "Careless People" where the author beats Zuck at Settlers of Catan, and he is absolutely wrecked by it. Someone pulls her aside to explain everyone else has been letting him win for years. I think about this a lot re: why tech bros think everyone will love AI chatbots.

People who spiral out overusing LLM chatbots are really just experiencing the kind of brain-damaging stream of unconditional validation that’s always been the norm for the hyper-wealthy, which explains a lot.

Big bin day is happening across Australia. What is it ? People are dumpster diving for food and then giving it away outside of Coles and woolies. To not only show the waste but to show the price gouging.

I keep wondering why I love the City Watch books by Sir Terry Pratchett. I think I know why... It's a Police Force run by the neurodivergent, the queer, and the outcast. They're coppers every single one, and they'd be the first behind Sam Vimes himself to call themselves bastards.

I don't usually get any reactions to vaccines, despite my immune system spending every day shrieking ALERT ALERT, MAKE EXTRA LAYERS OF SKIN, JUST BECAUSE!! and to vaccines is um, whatever and having no reaction. But I had an RSV vax on Monday, and I am getting alllll the flu-like symptoms. Yuuuuck.
