If you are disheartened by the first image, then look at the second image and then tell your mates to enroll to vote and then bully them into voting for greens ✌🏽

American librarican in Aotearoa. Neurodivergent dad. AI is bullshit. Music is life.
it’s pretty obvious that a lot of people remember that COVID lockdowns were unpleasant and from there just extrapolate that they were therefore bad policy
It’s hard to explain but tv was better when you couldn’t watch the show you wanted whenever you wanted to watch it and most of the shows were worse and the TVs were worse and the entire experience was worse, that’s when it was better
Re-watched Encanto with the family last night. Not sure any media has made me as emotional recently as the Abuela's flashback / Dos Oroguitas scene has. Knife in the heart stuff.
Theme for Friday's vinyl night is "80's." Despite that leaving a wide swathe to choose from, I don't want to leave out any bangers unnecessarily. Also don't want to play anything that's been played earlier in the night.
It is amazing that the 250th anniversary of America was pretty much just not a thing. You could tell all the companies thought it would be, they had 250th ketchup and ice cream and energy drinks but all we got was a shit ass fair that no one went to
I can't believe people would want to talk about Jimothy the raccoon instead of spending their every waking moment discussing unceasing human misery. Smh this says so much about society this is how we got here.
(3 drinks) sometimes the world is so magnificent that i will weep at the many simple beauties you encounter during a normal day (3.25 drinks) if you begin to think about it enemies are actually surrounding me and closing in. i am beset upon by evil on all sides.
Has anybody ever considered that New Zealand's "low productivity" is a result of bad management?
Replacing my phone pickup reflex wit the healthier option—a pack of cigarettes
* the diner that let us sit in a booth all night * the comic book store where we played magic with twentysomethings who taught us who henry rollins was * the park that had a carnival twice a year * the quinceañera hall that let us throw punk shows * the coffee shop that held open mics on tuesdays
I ask as always: What were these mythical "third places that previous generations had available to them?" The whole idea of "third places" is just so much Camelot mythmaking.
Miss three, on handing me a ten-ish year-old undershirt: "Daddy, this shirt is tired." Accurate.
My favorite Sam Neil fact will always be that he designed a future Australian flag that replaces the union jack with the aboriginal flag for Event Horizon and insisted the film use it.
Thinking how at the end of the Star Wars trilogy an entire galaxy celebrates the death of the emperor without a finger wagging coda where a sad-eyed long haired scold in bespoke clothing warns that this reduces everyone to the same level as the genocidal tyrant who got tossed into a laser shaft.
every private equity guy for some reason: step 1 to improving this company is firing everybody who knows what they're doing
Trump celebrating Balogun’s eligibility to play for Team USA when his administration would strip Balogun’s citizenship tomorrow if he didn’t play world class soccer is really a chef’s kiss.
America keeps trying to get me to go to her birthday party and I’m like no girl u need to go to the hospital
You know, when it happens there's a very good chance it will be during one of these ass-kissing sessions and no one will notice for a while because they'll think he's just 'blinking a long time'
The way they are sold (the smart computer from that movie you liked) bears almost no relation to what they are (magic 8 ball and autocorrect had a baby).
Tony Bourdain taught us all that a place is full of good food, good people, and good experiences despite very shitty politics and I think it’s kind of classically American to have thought we were excluded from that Venn diagram
I thought the world cup was going to be a nightmare, but I forgot that we actually love when people like us
man nyc is such a fun place right now. on my way to a mets game (lol) and everyone’s in knicks gear or brazil gear or mets gear or argentina gear. everyone’s on their way to a watch party or a block party. the whole country could be like this if it wasn’t run by miserable pudding brained freaks
Happy Pride to this Caravaggio self-portrait that made one man so gay he had to go to the hospital
Every American deserves free access to whatever level of medical care keeps our president from collapsing into a pile of wet bones day after day.
One of life's little pleasures is getting the stamp of approval from the op shop cashier ladies. "Ooh, that's a great price!" Yes, Gladys, it is. Thank you for noticing.
So many people who can reasonably be described as “that little shit” are in charge of so much of society.
Watching Easy A for the first time in a long time. Amanda Bynes, Stanley Tucci, Malcolm McDowell, great supporting cast. Also holy shit the attitude towards the gays in that recent history… oof
just realized that i am the government for my dogs and, this is going to sound insane but, my first thought was “how can i provide them with the best life possible instead of gaslighting and being a shithead to them every day”
Inspired by the Enhanced Games I am launching NASCAR for drunk drivers
