A fascinating editorial decision from the BBC, to make the headline a scaremongering “AUTISM AND ADHD ARE BEING OVERDIAGNOSED”, and then, four bullet points later, have the author of the report quoted as essentially saying “nah, that’s bullshit, actually”.

ADHD and autism at risk of over-diagnosis, says report, as author warns of rise in mental ill health
Summary
• An official review in England finds there is a risk of people being over-diagnosed with
ADHD and autism - three key findings from the report
• As well as neurodevelopmental conditions, the review looks at mental ill health, particularly in younger people. Our health correspondent explains the difference
• It was commissioned earlier this year after Wes Streeting, then the health secretary, said there was an "over-diagnosis" of mental health conditions
• Speaking to Radio 4's Today programme earlier, review chair Prof Peter Fonagy said Streeting was "with respect, completely wrong"

On the day he is a main candidate in a very important by-election, Facebook has *suspended* Zack Polanski’s account. This ON ITS OWN should be reason to vote Green in Holborn & St Pancras. This is foreign interference in British democracy. And guess what, the media (and Labour) is silent.

Again, let's just stop & remember that age-based legal restrictions on access to social media/online services are a bad idea & infringe the rights of young people to speak, access information and arts & culture, find community and play. Then look at the madness involved in trying to make them work.

UK officials admit that they will do "hard checks" to enforce the under-16 social media ban after Australia's failures and will require platforms to verify via passport, license, or credit.

Sonia is a reactionary crackpot who is paid to write hit pieces on progressives for a very, very right wing Murdoch newspaper. What is she talking about, here? You openly despise most of the left, you don’t get a vote here!

Hope the Green conference today is proving a bit of a wakeup call to those who dream of a progressive coalition. No such thing as a progressive coalition with these cranks.

I think the "debate" about bringing iced coffee to job interviews is effective at distracting people from the really bad job market, the high unemployment rate for Black women, ongoing mass layoffs in tech and media, and how Gen Z workers are refusing to adopt many toxic aspects of corp work culture

As Burnham inevitably runs into the buzzsaw of the budget and the oil crisis and his popularity collapses to sub-Starmer numbers we're going to get another round of "is Britain ungovernable?" and I would simply ask: does this look like any kind of sincere attempt to govern is being made?
