Genocide is a red line - how far over it they are is irrelevant. 🤷 Trans rights are human rights. 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

One of the bigger problems the 2025 ruling has introduced is establishing that, instead of resolving equality cases based on trying to as best as possible integrate everyone's right to be treated humanely, we use philosophical debates about what someone's true legal essence is to decide rights.

web.archive.org/web/20260108... Here's an archive link of the original business guidance in case the original goes missing. In pretty clear terms the original guidance used to say stuff like "obviously, so long as the changing rooms allow privacy, trans women should be permitted to use the womens"

"And in real life, Rod was kind and generous. He came to dinner at my house, and brought his family along to one of my Christmas parties, no doubt turning down far grander invitations to be there." Hitler was an animal lover, you know... Doted on his German Shepherd dogs...

Joanna Williams in The Telegraph: They are celebrating the death of Rod Liddle on Bluesky, and it's even worse than you think

The "Be Kind" mob betrays its true nature with torrents of hate - and even the dead aren't safe

Boots theory is just a pop culture phrase for part of the poverty trap - A phenomenon where escaping poverty has large upfront costs but not tackling those costs has greater long-term costs, locking people in poverty. This is not a seriously contested phenomenon. It's very well researched.

Good morning. Welcome to the UK, where our equalities watchdog has a handy guide on how to hatecrime people you don’t like the look of in public toilets and the Tories are standing a Neo-Nazi local government candidate who was jailed for antisemitic harassment.

🧵Scottish anti-abortion groups are still attempting to make this disinformation take off in MAGA occupied 🇺🇸 No, a teacher was not ‘sacked’ for being anti-abortion. She was not sacked at all. She’s now being booked for speaking gigs 🙄Please share to debunk… www.thenational.scot/politics/264...

Respecting freedom of speech does not mean a removal of consequences

REPORTS have been circulating of a teacher supposedly being sacked on the same day she told children that she opposes abortion. As a teacher, I am…

The problem is in the system, and while individual actions can help alleviate it (and we should ensure that we are doing what we can), the issue can only really be resolved by gutting the social, political, and media apparatus that has allowed this inequality to flourish.

The thing that's bugging me today is that no matter how much we as people and communities can do to reassure our trans friends that spaces we control will be welcoming and safe for them, there will be a constant uncertainty over their safety in any other space - in most places in the UK.

Today makes me sick. I can only imagine how trans people are feeling. The insane law coming into force is a sham, a disgrace in a supposed civilised society. I can say to trans people, you are loved, seen and respected by me. Give them dixie, don't change and keep being u. See you in the ladies 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️

Leaders of flag-raising group Raise the Colours Oxfordshire placed trackers on highway workers’ cars to find out their home addresses, the High Court has heard. RTC then attempted to intimidate the highway staff into no longer removing flags by repeating their addresses to them.

Counterpoint: I think we’re obligated to loudly condemn racist, bigoted, hateful men that beat women and speak about their desire to molest children, especially when they became wealthy sharing these hateful views so widely, and are praised by the British press and political elites. Your response?

Sad to see people posting on social media negatively about Rod Liddle, who died yesterday. If I have disagreed with you very strongly in life - and you die - I hope I'll be either silent, or kind.

Be interesting to see who mourns the death of a journalist who was arrested for punching his pregnant partner and who said he couldn't become a teacher because "I could not remotely conceive of not trying to shag the kids." Bet it's the "protecting women and children" crew

Should be pinned to the top of every single intercommunity argument about tactics. In particular: the people doing the kind of direct action work that other people like to fantasise about online are ABSOLUTELY not talking about it online, are you high? Doing the work > masturbatory discourse

One final take: The people doing the hard yards of effective work, whether grassroots activism, legal work or lobbying, do not talk much on here about it. Because it’s difficult, exhausting interpretations are too bad faith, and the other side can see your posts. Bluesky is not the real world.

I've already made it clear that I'm not interested in continuing a struggle session into a second or third day. Do what you like but I will simply mute you rather than waste all our times. I regard myself as accountable, true, but there are more useful things I can be doing.
