Nobody wants to engage with assholes, and though it's not a universal thing, assholes tend to skew right-wing. Without an algorithm boosting them, nobody sees or engages with their shitty posts and they just... leave, so you end up with a largely pro-social, left-wing userbase.

1/ REALLY insightful thread. (Jess's, not miee) Many of my students (particularly undergrads) lack basic computer skills, including folder structures, knowing that you need to download certain files to open them, how to navigate a spreadsheet etc. And it affects their ability to do schoolwork.

You sometimes see Government TDs pointing out that Ireland isn’t unique in the world in having a housing crisis. But this graph in today’s Financial Times shows just how extreme ours is compared to the places elsewhere, which also describe themselves as a in a housing crisis.

This is an issue for An Garda Síochána to address. Firstly, to train gardaí to be able to correctly differentiate between a bicycle (whether e-bike or not) which is legally permitted to use the street, and an electric throttle bike, which is not. Secondly, to enforce this law.

This experiment must be abandoned without delay In trying to deal with an enforcement issue @dubcitycouncil.bsky.social have made the street less usable for all users.
