Or maybe have some online comments on the network's website ready to read. "Kristen, user Martha489 says -- in the official forum for this CBS News article -- that she thinks we should kill every Iranian. Is that your own stance as well? Why haven't you disavowed him?" "Moving on. User Funky55.."

right now, the best hegseth can hope for is to be remembered as a staggeringly incompetent defense secretary who gutted military leadership, tried to reimpose segregation in the highest ranks, and led the military to its worst strategic defeat in at least a generation.

The Battle to Save General Donahue From Hegseth’s Army Purge

Gen. Christopher T. Donahue’s vision for fighting future wars won him powerful supporters around the world. Could they save his career?

If I may get on my soap box: No Kings is a tactic. It is not the strategy and no one involved in putting it on considers it sufficient on its own. It's a mass show of defiance that's also served as an onramp to the kind of local organizing work that's necessary to shift power

I see on-the-ground evidence *on a daily basis* of how people's involvement in No Kings, Indivisible, 50501 has grown into ICE monitoring, flock camera protests, city council blowups over data centers and running for office. THAT was the point of No Kings, all along, from my perspective.

Take a break from being depressed that everything you love is being destroyed by slop for a moment and let me tell you about the beautiful symbiotic relationship between graffiti writers, train yard workers, and model train enthusiasts.

Bought this pocket paperback of ‘A Clockwork Orange’ from my library’s used book sale. $.50! Isn’t the cover art amazing? And then I open it up and it turns out it was purchased at Shakespeare and Company in Paris! #booksky #books

Cover of pocket paperback of ‘A Clockwork Orange’ by Anthony Burgess. Black background, title in orange script. Features a green skeleton in a derby hat and white button down shirt lounging on his elbow. Inside title page of A Clockwork Orange. Includes a black circular stamp of Shakespears’ head and reads, ‘Shakespeare and Company Kilometer Zero Paris.’

genuinely - this is something democrats across the country have badly struggled with given how biased the current set of media gatekeepers (both traditional and untraditional) are it sure helps that he's a generationally charismatic individual, but every other democrat should try to learn from him

That Mamdani figured out how to get his message out in the 2020s better than any other dem isn't a scandal, it's part of his secret sauce!

but I am sorry, I simply cannot see building a press office that does effective social media outreach as a scandal in a world where explicit republican partisans control nearly every media outlet or social media site and are loud and up-front about how much of a thumb they’re putting on the scale

I think one reason Mamdani is using non-traditional media is because traditional media isn't covering substantive government stories The two reporters on this topic cover the Mamdani administration but mostly from the perspective of conflicts. Too much theater, not enough substance.

"Mr. Mamdani is a master of new media... But as mayor, he has also been able to use taxpayer funds to create a sprawling network of hundreds of friendly influencers to boost his priorities, provide positive depictions of his administration and enhance his popularity."

Adley Rutschman is the 2nd player since at least 1900 to change teams and homer multiple times in his first game against the former team in the same season, joining: Willis Otanez July 8, 1999, also against the O's (playing for the Blue Jays) h/t @EliasSports

the fact that the NBA was forced to investigate and punish its richest owner because of a scandal uncovered by an investigative journalist… shoutout to pablo torre! journalism is so important!!!

In things I didn't expect this morning, but feel lucky to see: I'm watching a Black woman naval officer being promoted to Captain from my apartment window, and this has to be one of the coolest things I've seen.

Once again, Roberts wants to have his cake & eat it, too. He wants to be seen a neutral arbitrator outside the political sphere without allowing evidence that would permanently shatter that illusion to come to light. He wants to be seen as a public servant while eschewing all attendant requirements.

knowing what the Supreme Court is doing and how the Court really works is a pre-req for holding the Court accountable John Roberts literally wants justices to take that knowledge to their graves so that he can bury the prospect of accountability along with them ballsandstrikes.org/ethics-accou...
