The problem is that bc private insurance is the main customer paying for all of these things on both sides of the border, the cost is astronomical. Canada would benefit if the USA had universal healthcare including pharmacare. Instead we get propaganda saying we need to privatize ours MORE.

We should all join The Canadian Health Coalition and campaign against for-profit and in favor of better, enforceable rules for our current system. Carney shouldn't be able to not enforce The Canada Healh Act.
It's frustrating that federal healthcare money can be put in general revenue then use for whatever a premier chooses. There need to be rules related to health funds being used for Healthcare in an appropriate way. We seem to have no accountability for our tax money.

Why is Carney allowing Smith to break The Canada Health Act by bringing in for-profit healthcare? What's next, will we be told we can no longer afford our Healthcare? Making corporations richer makes the rest of us poorer. Let your political representatives know this is not acceptable.

Shane🇨🇦@shane555.bsky.social · 4d agoNon-profit delivery still allows Doctors to make a good living, AND helps keep out Private Equity / Investors / Greedy extractors. The Canada Health Act should change with the mandate coming from citizens assembly, not politicians / lobbyists.
I truly believe that Universal Health Care, and having the Canada Health Act enforced is worth fighting for. I don't care about Danielle Smith having a conniption. Are we so weak that we're just going to lose our fight for climate justice and Universal Health Care because of Dani and the Seppos?

The oil sands mining companies have been promising that the tech to reclaim water and land from oil sands mining is ten years away since the 1960s when mining began. They've only been allowed to get away with that this long because provincial and federal governments are willing conspirators.
Cases like these are becoming the new norm in AB, but nobody finds out about them if they don't make it into the press. The Premier and Ministers should be very aware of them, and should be FULLY INFORMED by our Alberta Health Leads. What's the plan to mitigate this??? 2/2

It seems to be a federal responsibility as well. And the amount of the transfers will reduce to 3% soon from what I read somewhere. We need to fund public health properly - under Kenney in Alberta they used the federal health transfer money to pay down their self-inflicted deficit!
