BREAKING: in July 2026, *every single one* of the 2,528 refugees admitted in the U.S. were white South Africans. In FY 2026, the U.S. has admitted a total of 10,255 white South Africans, three Afghans (back in November), and nobody else. For reference, the U.S. admitted 100,060 refugees in 2024.

Ruis was designated a "bypass inmate," which classifies an inmate as someone who has to be kept separate from others because they can't get along with people. Yet, Brandon Yates was still transferred to Ruis' cell. Within minutes of entering the cell, Ruis and Yates started talking about God, and the conversation quickly became volatile, according to the complaint. Ruis, the plaintiffs say, decided Yates was the devil and that he had permission from God to take his time to torture him before killing him. According to the family's complaint, Yates tried to press an emergency intercom button in his cell multiple times to summon deputies, but those calls, as well as shouting from other inmates trying to get deputies attention, were muted and ignored for nearly an hour while Ruis killed Yates. Eugene Iredale of Iredale and Yoo APC, the Yates family's attorney, said during the press conference that Ruis had even pressed the emergency button "to see if he could be stopped from what he was doing." This couple came legally. They applied for asylum before their visas expired, wanting to do it all by the books. After six months, they applied for work permits to stay afloat, passing background checks. They worked legally and paid taxes while government delay dragged on. Then ICE came for them.

The couple quickly became key to Chicago’s nightlife, curating events and performing in some of Chicago’s most popular venues. They were getting ready for their biggest venture yet: following Karol G’s tour across the country, hosting unofficial afterparties. But on Sunday morning, as the couple walked out of their rideshare outside of Midway Airport, they were apprehended by federal immigration agents. The two were on their way to take a flight to Washington, D.C., the first stop of the tour. They never made it through the door. The Department of Homeland Security said it had arrested Panqueva, 26, and Paez, 27, for overstaying their visas, which both expired in 2022. But their attorney, Enrique Espinoza, said the pair had applied for asylum within the required time frame before their visas expired. The two both have asylum cases, Social Security numbers, work permits and the documents required for their ongoing legal process, Espinoza said.

There may well be active duty troops in the Middle East right now who have family members locked in ICE jails. Congress authorized Military Parole-in-Place specifically to avoid this situation. But the Trump admin has shown little care to families caught in this situation.

For the past five months the only refugees the USA has accepted are white South Africans fleeing equality & safety meanwhile they are disappearing or strapping ankle monitors on any Haitian they can get ahold of. It needs to be understood how thoroughly connected these two things are.
