The Loar Axe

I got into this HVAC game for the action.

Kids these days don't know about Supertramp. Aren't having formative experiences finding an old LP of Breakfast in America, getting really into it, then being ridiculed by their peers. Culture in decline.

I don't even know what to say. This is real, this is true, so, like, thank you all, from the bottom of my heart. This took over 25 years to happen so if there's any lesson here it's either "keep at it, who knows" or "many people are divorced"

image of a gold record superimposed on part of Vaughan Oliver's iconic cover for the Mountain Goats' "Tallahassee" album, with a banner beneath it showing the entire album cover, an RIAA seal, and the text: Presented to THE MOUNTAIN GOATS to commemorate the RIAA Gold certification of more than 500,000 copies of the 4AD single "No Children"

People are trying to Will Stancilize Ken Jenn— I bolt awake, it's 1937. I'm a cafeteria worker at Bell Labs holding a ham-carving knife, and Claude Shannon is coming down the line with his tray. The future must not come to pass.

Most rural areas have a ruling class. And they want cheap unfree workers & to pass their fiefdoms on tax-free forever. It ain't rocket science. The fact that we're scared to talk about THAT, ime, is what's costing us a lot of rural voters!

I mean man it is hard to convey how scorned furries were on the early Internet. Bottom rung socially. And yet they kept on yiffing, until at last they will soon be the only representatives of humanity capable of speaking the language of God, while we stare in the window as rain pours over us. Woof.

This was my exact experience re-reading Confederacy of Dunces last year. Me in 2007: haha this guy, what a weirdo, so many absurd hijinx Me in 2025: oh no, a book about the same type of guy who ruins everything else around me, and now he's ruining reading too

bsky.app/profile/dara... like, maybe Ignatius P. Reilly was a more compelling character before the most influential public intellectuals in America and half of all mass shooters started sounding like him?
