After four days of bruteforcing and spending over $900, the FULL version of FFVII Dirge of Cerberus Lost Episode has been preserved by @yuvi.app! The game's SD card data, which it fully relies on, remained encrypted until now. Despite being 9MB, the game contains cutscenes and voice acting.

Kamaitachi no Yoru is simply one of the most important Japanese games in history, period. In the historical trajectory of novel games, if Otogirisou, Chunsoft's previous gane, is Pac-Land, this is Super Mario Brothers. It is that foundational in the storytelling and design paradigms it codified.

This is HISTORICAL.

Got so lucky in Wizardry that I'm never asking for anything ever again. Feels weird to my ears rn to hear anything other than the voices of XIV Prishe and JP Dissidia Iroha, but the performances are quite good generally.

criticism discourse got me thinking about how many game critics have muffled totally reasonable, articulate critiques about tons of things around the game space because they don't want to be perceived as piling onto someone or something who might have been a harassment target of right wing gamers
Musicals having musical numbers that exist in a separate space with different rules of storytelling is a good way to explain that ludonarrative dissonance is mostly not real.
Narrative designers have known this for years and frequently use live theater conceits, especially with environmental storytelling and cross-disciplinary collaboration with other facets of design. Have you seen Sleep No More? It's basically a game.

Too many people in this space ultimately only care about their ability to play games. Their entire ideology is based on the premise that games are some right accorded to them. When that's your most core belief, nothing serious can be built on top of it.

Interesting that almost all analysis of Xbox in freefall completely ignores an organized boycott intended to harm the company financially. Meanwhile, multiple news stories on the home page all month about PlayStation boycotts that haven't even happened yet.
