I finished 2 Masters degrees and assorted graduate certificates in 5 years. It broke my ability to read for enjoyment and I hadn’t read anything in almost a year. But now, in the last 5 days I’ve finished 2 of 3 books in @travisbaldree.bsky.social’s Legends and Lattes series! It’s been so much fun!

One of my fave things in York Minster: a medieval wren stalking a spider. It reminds me that history isn't only kings and battles. Someone, centuries ago, found joy in the same things we still notice today. It's a reminder of how much we have in common over our differences.

A sad and disappointing first: I, a research archivist, was emailed a question that did not ask for a reasoned response, but instead asked for a list of AI prompts so that ChatGPT could answer their questions. Why are people so willing to outsource thinking?!?

About the size of a golf ball, the newly identified deep-sea species was found nearly 1,800 meters below the surface during an expedition in the Pacific Ocean.
