Just a Warcabbit, still running City of Titans

GI Joe picture of the day: Heavy Duty hangs by a thread. Featuring Heavy Duty, Road Pig, Cobra Commander, Sludge Viper, and Toxo-Viper (all 1991) and the Toxo-Lab (1992). In retrospect I wish I'd done this against a dark background instead of the baby gate, so the bright colors would pop. oh well!

Heavy duty, wearing his distinctive and quintessentially '90s backwards lime green ball cap, hangs by one arm from the open cockpit of the Badger jeep, which is being held upside down by the grabber arm of the Cobra Toxo-Lab, operated by a Toxo-Viper. Below him, Road Pig (with orange hair), Cobra Commander (the orange-visor version) a Sludge-Viper, and another Toxo-Viper are all trying to grab him.

Been seeing the “how do you break in” conversations floating around and I remember in my early days of just wanting to work in film all the conversations were about how to break in. Turns out the answer is just show up and do the work. Make friends. Be helpful.

Okay, I am going to tell a little story. It's one I have saved for the last couple years, almost nobody knows about it. But it lives in my heart. I don't know how others will feel about it, maybe something, maybe nothing. It's about the Uncanny X-Men. 1/

I am going through Bram Stoker’s earliest notes on DRACULA today - they include a list of the powers and features of the Count (then named “Wampyr” before Stoker stumbled on “Dracula”), many of which are never elucidated in the book…

• panters cannot pant hım; looks like someone else (38b)
• insensitive to music (38b)
• despises death and the dead (38b)
. is affected only by relics that are older than he is (38b)
• can create evil thoughts in others, banish good ones, and destroy will (38b)
• cannot be photographed; photographs come out black or like a skeleton corpse (4, 38b)
• can tell if bodies are dead or alive (4)
• sees man semingly dead and says "no" (4)
• has to be brought or carried over threshold. Dracula visits an asylum where he stumbles on the threshold (4, 16)
• named "Count Wampyr" (1)
• can determine and prove if people are sane (24)

Vince DiCola wins for going "I was asked to rework a sad theme for the Apology Tour album..." and then lauching into a piece it took about a minute for people to click wasn't a bold reinvention of Death of Optimus Prime, but Simon and Garfunkel. He punked us.

All error messages should be copyable. I'm so bored of having to transcribe some arcane error code just because some gobshite developer couldn't be arsed to find the setting to make their error messages appear as copyable text.
