Writer, editor, cool aunt for hire. She/her. Here for nonsense, fandom and otherwise. Rumor has it I might be Kelinswriter on AO3. It ain’t easy running a universe. #SANVERS 🏳️‍🌈

holy shit, this is the whole ballgame in a single paragraph gAI systems require mass theft of copyrighted works, for the explicit purpose of replacing the market for the people they stole from, and the people in charge knew what they were doing ahead of time, and did it anyway

Eye popping. Court just unsealed Summary Judgment motions in New York Times v OpenAI / Microsoft. Easy to see why the AI companies had so many redactions (pink). Their own people wrote the lede for NYT, the "largest theft of labor in human history"... "more and more substitutive..." /1

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 29: The best way to promote your books isn't to spend money on ads. It's to get people interested in YOU. Engage. Comment on topics that interest you. Write blog posts on the themes of your books. If those things interest you, they may do the same for others.

If I was running for office and was asked about Hasan Piker, I would just start reciting quotes from prominent Republican streamers until they had to give that news segment a TV-MA rating.

i feel like a message that is missing in the midterms is that….republicans control everything? it feels like a basic thing we should really be saying over and over. this is all their choice. unhappy? look who is in the drivers seat.

After my small experiment last week with "Ai Detectors," I have concluded that they are BULLSHIT. A paragraph that I wrote 100% on my own got between 0% to 25% AI detection using 4 different services. It's bullshit. If someone was using the 25% detection tool, then what?

Cheers to everyone that makes video games, writes books, and creates art right now. You're doing everyone around you a great service, offering a small reprieve from the noise of the world today. You're making things worth experiencing.

Oh and this has nothing to do with fed rates going up and the fraudulent musical chair funding system reaching its conclusion or Saudi money drying up with the collapse of the petrodollar. They’re actually so so scared by their Frankenstein. It’s so scary scary.

I cannot tell you what absolute fiction this is. AI is heading for a crash and this cackhanded Terminator narrative is being engineered to save them. The fact that the unsubstantiated testimony of a former employee has been the top story on BBC News all day is absurd and irresponsible.
