Those who like my sort of thing will find me to be the sort of thing they like. Writer, reader, coffee addict, cat mom, crazy lady. She/her.

Today's word is DRIP. Today's #BookQW from DIRECT DESCENDANT (DAW Books, Inc. 2025), a standalone contemporary fantasy (or cozy horror, depending on if you're talking to me or marketing) takeing place in Northern Ontario, land of the silver birch, home of the...not quite moose. Shop indie if you can

Lower left the cover of Direct Descendant, yellow and green and black with a bakery, a woman eating a cup cake, framing silver birch, and tentacles. Because that's the way we roll.

By the time I got back to the guest house, sweat dripped continuously off my chin and rolled in slow motion into my cleavage like a titillating shot in one of those terrible 90's fantasies resurrected by streaming services. Inside the blessed air conditioning, I slowly climbed the three stairs from the side door to the first floor, damp denim dragging against my shins. I didn't know shins could sweat. First time for everything.

There's a disturbing video making the rounds of a female protester being attacked. This is your reminder that "Hide post from me" will block the post, including in reposts, from showing up again in your feed.

So this one time, I was at a Stargate SG-1 con and went to get the autograph of Peter Williams who played Apophis. He told me I had lovely eyes. I said he had a nice ass. I have died of embarrassment every day since. Now I just smile at celebrities and keep my mouth firmly shut.

To jump off this, if I’m at a con, please don’t feel obligated to come up with something clever before talking to me. Unless you catch me in the first hour of the first day, odds are good I’m not clever at that exact moment either. You can grunt “Book good!” and I’ll grunt “Yay!” and we’re fine.

(I saw some discourse earlier about blocking people without ever interacting with them, and probably 90% of my blocks are solely because I saw someone being a jerk to someone I follow. I don't want that on my timeline, thanks — this isn't twitter's rotting corpse.)
